About this deal

In March 2018, Lipscomb began a series of podcasts for Historic England entitled Irreplaceable: A History of England in 100 Places. [81] The podcast, presented by Lipscomb and journalist Emma Barnett, was awarded silver (second) in the "Best Branded Content" category of the British Podcast Awards on 19 May 2018. [82] [83] Lipscomb presented The Tsar and Empress: Secret Letters on Australia's SBS TV Channel in April 2018, [84] and on the Yesterday channel in May 2018. [85] I have only just found the series Bloody Tales of the Tower, previously on National Geographic and now on Channel 5 ( http://www.channel5.com/show/bloody-tales-of-the-tower and http://www.natgeotv.com/za/bloody-tales-of-the-tower), and have to say that I enjoyed it very much. The presenters, Suzannah Lipscomb and Joe Crowley, are at ease in their roles and with each other, and do not adopt a patronising, superior attitude, as some do. Suzannah is a Tudor historian, and very sensible with it. Lipscomb grew up in Surrey near Hampton Court Palace, which she credits for sowing “the seeds of a lifelong fascination with the Tudors.” [15] She was educated at Nonsuch High School for Girls, Epsom College, and Lincoln and Balliol colleges of the University of Oxford. [16] [17] [18] [19] In 2009, she was awarded her Doctorate of Philosophy from Oxford, with a thesis entitled Maids, Wives, and Mistresses: Disciplined Women in Reformation Languedoc. At sometime in the late 1960s or 1970, a sentry was found insensible and gibbering “Man in cloak” over and over. Once he recovered, he described how a headless figure wearing a cloak came up to him, sending him into a frenzy and running for assistance. 16. Traitor’s Gate
