Bazat pe combinatia de note, parfumul este clasificat ca unul lemnos – acvatic. Emanatia aromelor si a notelor pentru acest flanker se desfasoara intr-un vartej de citrice si note de deschidere marine, inclusiv citrice, lamaie si apa de mare. Notele de centru si acordurile lemnoase din inima se imbina cu alge si patchouli, in timp ce notele din baza lemnoasa lasa o impresie de arbore de abanos si chihlimbar. Absolu really has that ambery sort of smell throughout, I know the labdanum is playing a big part of that, but I wonder if one of the wood notes is amber wood? I haven’t seen it listed, but I do think so. It is a harsher aroma versus the more naturalistic amber notes out there. Projection wise, the sillage starts out fairly powerful, but settles down into something that is more moderate but steady. You won’t need more than a few sprays for this stuff to do its magic. For an (semi) aquatic kind of cologne, it does have great power versus many others of this ilk. In the middle, Acqua di Gio Absolu has a solid presence of labdanum that gives a sweet aroma as well as increases the effect of the woody aspect. Lavender works from behind by making the cologne calm and collected.

It’s mostly at the beginning that they smell alike and this Armani fragrance is much better in my opinion. Aqua can have this stinky dry down of the sea notes, but the Armani doesn’t. It also has an earthy tone from the patchouli with the presence of wood. The patchouli is not too dominating but it makes the fragrance more alluring. What I only faintly perceive, however, is the wood of the fragrance, which at most after about three hours sometimes flashes up slightly acidic and dark as such from time to time. Because otherwise I can only detect it in the mixture of the aquatic plants, but not as a clearly identifiable wood note. The fresh and aquatic opening of Acqua di Gio Absolu will make you fall in love with it with the first sniff. The sea notes with apple and grapefruit take you on your beach vacation. He begins his own and ends his own, his kinship can be guessed at most, and yet he has completely convinced me with his citric-fruity beginning and elegant-warm, slightly maritime-fruity ending appearance, which at no time seems overloaded or intrusive.

The fragrance starts with a blast of grapefruit and sea notes. Straight from the beginning, it smells exactly like Acqua di Gio Absolu. It is a lovely cloud of citrus and aquatic notes. You will go into a happy mood instantly after spraying Havas. The notes and aroma are quite similar to Acqua di Gio Absolu, except the woody notes come a bit later in Hawas for Him.
