My cages are all Montana. I think they are very good quality. A little cheaper than Kings but, in my opinion, much better. I have seen pretty much all types and there are some pretty basic cheaply constructed cages which are not worth the money, even though cheaper, and what's more being "economy" constructed to keep the price down concerns me about the quality of material used and the possible effect on my bird. I have a Kings portable and admittedly I am not impressed with it. I have seen the bigger cages up close and yes they are much lighter but I don't rate them. Stainless steel is the highest grade IMO but they will cost even more and weight is a serious issue. Circumstances change too much, you move the furniture around or buy a parrot stand and suddenly you want to change the cage, but can`t justify it if you`ve spent that much money.

I have heard good reports about AVI. They do look decent. I am also impressed with Rosemead, I have see their aviaries and they are excellent, some say they are a little pricey, but I suppose you get what you pay for. I've got one and IMO it's very expensive. However based on other cages I've had, which are basically the powder coated ones you'll see on Scarletts and Northern Parrots etc. I also think it's better made and better looking. The aluminium is much lighter, there are no dangers of rust or powder coating chipping away and it's easy to assemble with everything slotting together. I have changed the plastic cups to metal. Plastic cups for a cage that price is taking the pee by Kings. I have a Manhattan, a New Jersey, and a Haiti (a holiday home, which he only really sleeps in), and another huge one, the name of which escapes me right now, and they are all decent construction and quality. Also have a couple of carriers the Kings I mentioned and a Wingabago, which is good.
