In terms of overall vapor quality, the DaVinci IQC and DaVinci IQ2 are equal and identical in pretty much every regard. While we can say that there are other dry herb vaporizers out there that offer fuller extraction and more flavor, both of these DaVinci vaporizers come pretty damn close. If we weren’t in the business of A-B testing these two with other more expensive dry herb vaporizers, we would hardly be able to tell the difference.

Cleaning the IQC and IQ2 is a very similar process. After a few sessions, the IQs will begin to accumulate resin. That’s very common with most vaporizers, and usually occurs the most around the mouthpiece area. I like to use a clean Q-tip after my session to unclog the mouthpiece and wipe off some of the resin that inevitably forms inside the device. I suggest doing that while it’s warm. If you wait too long, you can always use the included alcohol pads. The extended mouthpiece is my favorite mouthpiece so far because the longer airpath helps to cool down the vapor, making each hit feel more natural. The downside is that it reduces portability a little. The Davinci Miqro-C also just received an upgrade and now uses USB-C charging. The Miqro-C saw some build quality changes (better hinges), a reduction from a three-button system to a one-button system, and only one row of LEDs displayed on the front. The upgrades or differences with the new Davinci IQ2 Carbon include a carbon fiber exterior, which helps keep the unit cooler, especially during longer or group sessions, and a new USB-C charging system. And that, along with the IQ2’s amazing performance and ease of use, is why this is now my go-to #1 portable weed vape.Everything about the IQ2 Carbon screams quality. The unit itself is sturdy while still being lightweight and portable (5.6 oz/159 g) and feels solid in your hand. It’s immediately obvious that a lot of thought and engineering went into creating the IQ2. Basic operation between the two largely remains the same. All the physical buttons used to operate the functions of both vaporizers are located on the side. Aside from the power button, there are two navigation buttons used to select your preferred preset or “Smart Path” as DaVinci likes to call it. As you can probably tell, I really like the DaVinci IQ2. Coming from the PAX 3, I didn’t think the DaVinci IQ2 would have what it takes to beat out PAX’s ultra-popular and similar-priced vaporizer. But it did. And it achieved this a few key areas: One of the major highlights between these two vaporizers is the ability to use replaceable 18650 batteries on the fly when needed.
