About this deal

Well, I tried to, but it wouldn’t spray out and dribbled down the tube onto my fingers and so I smeared it onto my wrist instead. It is great for daytime during Spring, Autumn and Winter; Summer perhaps, if it's not too hot, up to 25° max , otherwise it could be cloying. Brings to mind a historic geisha with a Japanese steel sword, trained to be soft and accommodating but you also don't want to mess with her.

Smelling this fragrance makes me imagine a bohemian lady, who lives in a shabby chic country feel white cottage with driftwood flooring, big windows and white lace curtains. I may change or have alot of other perfumes but this one is my comfort perfume regardless time or occasion. When I first smelled it years ago, I wasn't sure about it, but now I think it might actually be my all time favorite perfume. I feel like this is what Flower is supposed to actually smell like, more of a soft flowery scent and less infant product. I wasn't keen on this powdery kind of scent in my 20's, but this suits me in my 30's as I prefer powdery, incense and clean musky scents.Flower is a beautiful parma violet lotion perfume w/ a very creamy hawthorn, and a subtle smoky vanillic quality. Because who doesn't want to smell like silky rosy sandalwood powder as she drifts off to sleep or rouses herself for another trying day? Overall, it scares me a bit, I think it is not suited for work and that it can be invasive like many strong powdery scent are. I can understand that whoever loves its scent or that feeling considers it an excellent perfume, but for me in terms of aroma it is not, although in terms of performance it was great because it lasted many hours and projected a lot. The base notes of musk and vanilla are lovely and lend themselves well to this fragrance, but the incense ruins things for me somewhat and makes Flower by Kenzo too smoky a fragrance for me.

It's hard to break it down by notes because it's so well blended Kenzo really did a fabulous job with this one! All this is not a problem, for it is a great and powerful, adorable, long-lasting and cozily flowery fragrance. Yes it probably is a bit more "mature", but it's not the old folk's home toilet cleaner I had in my head for years 😀.There are also some spicy notes in the background I can't really identify (my nose lacks the proper experience :P). Some people tend to hold very tightly to their prejudices and as it happens with homophobia, there’s also ageism. If you like powder and purple florals, this could be signature worthy, I think it’s extremely wearable for any season and daytime occasion. I live in Australia and I recently bought a 100ml bottle in Chemist Warehouse, only to find that my decade long signature perfume does not smell the way it used to. Overwhelming powdery violets, similar to Guerlain Insolence but also inexplicably reminds me of a diaper bag and it lasts a good hour on me.

Opening of baby bubblebath, palma violets and icing sugar which, despite its innocence, somehow lends itself to being a reasonably sophisticated womanly scent. Not really getting vanilla but something is the base is just slightly earthy and grounding, maybe that's the vanilla. The vanilla is prominent and makes it a bit sweet in a perfect way that doesn't remind the modern sticky sweet fruitchulies/gourmands.To my nose, the powdery aspect differs from iris or orris notes - but I can't adequately characterize it, less prominent perhaps? It’s like someone took a chorus of iris and violet and rose and other cool powdery florals that one might think of as refined and restrained, delicate and graceful, and they said to these bashful blooms–"hey guys, can you tone it down a little? Like a flower growing between the cracks of the pavement, this fragrance blooms in unexpected places - surprising and unique but always lovely and resilient.
