About this deal

I was pretty much hooked from the start and couldn't read fast enough to find out what happens next.

I was an ARC reviewer for the book Fierce King by author Sadie Kincaid. My review is based on my own opinions.I made my way to the dining room and wondered if I was going to regret my decision to eat dinner with my new wife, and whether I would regret even more allowing her to choose the meal. I'm a contemporary, dark romance author. I love to read and write about hot, filthy talking alphas that would burn the world down for the women they love. A fantastic story, with characters that have soul and emotion, that isn't just all about the hot sexy, steaminess, although there is that in abundance too!!! Alex and Alana fall in love unexpectedly. Theirs is arrange marriage. Alex dons many hats ,keeps Alana at an arm's distance initially. But is drawn to her simplicity and beauty. I decided to follow my instinct and read it anyway…and honestly a lot of the components that other readers complained about happened to be the bits I absolutely loved.

And as I uncover the secrets of our pasts, I discover that monsters are not always what they seem. Sometimes, the real monsters look like ordinary men. He assumed she was another spoiled Princess. Little does he know, Alana Carmichael is going to prove his assumptions wrong at every turn. She is empathetic, smart, stunning, sexy and so strong. “Alejandro Montoya might be the devil, but he was also a sex god. If my body was built for sin, then his was built for pleasure. And I couldn’t get enough of him. So, if he wanted no panties, than no panties would be what he’d get .” 😉 It’s so convenient and weird to have both of their mothers unknowing of their sham of a marriage. Like…why are these two women portrayed as these “feeble” things that can’t understand business marriages? If 25 year Alana can understand it, then at least one of those grown ass women could as well. And if not even one of those grown women could understand it, then maybe the premise really makes no type of sense. I’d left Alana my credit card that morning, and while I’d told her that I didn’t care how much of my money she spent, I did want to know exactly what I might be walking into later. This forced arranged marriage should leave her devoid of any feelings of love or lust towards Alejandro. She’s confused when he sets her skin on fire with just his touch. She shouldn’t be feeling this way. She should hate him. Her body is thinking otherwise. Alejandro Montoya is the King of the LA underworld. Alana Carmichael has just become his wife. It was good for business, he needed an heir and she was trying to keep her father out of prison. Alejandro was everything I look for in a mafia leader, possessive, powerful, gorgeous and a master in the bedroom. Alejandro Montoya is the Fierce King of LA the heir to the corporation. Alana Carmichael is going to be his new wife, this may look like a fairy tale wedding but it's one big nightmare for Alana to keep her father out of prison for life she had no choice in this arranged marriage and is whisked away before she even said "I Do" to the big mansion in the hills of Bel Air this is not how she dreamed of a married life. Hugo is her personal bodyguard and takes her anywhere she wants to go and she finds herself at a mother and children refuse helping out all she can. The chemistry between this couple builds up over time with trust for one another and he find Alana is the virgin bride Alejandro is going to break her his own princesa and she will never want to leave his bed again. He is the King of L.A, and everything a woman could want. Handsome, powerful, rich, and hotter than hell itself.

A GOOD WRITER DOESN’T TELL YOU ITS RAINING…BUT RATHER MAKES YOU FEEL WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE RAINED UPON….” Instead of showing us their interaction as they are pretending to be a couple and outrageously flirting with each other, our author just tells us that happened. No dialogue, just a paragraph saying, “Yup, we did this.” And what’s worst is this is the first time these two have supposedly acted romantic with each other, even if it is an act. You would think that would warrant an actual scene rather than just a drive by, half paragraph, surmising. This is said paragraph: Of course, the FMC isn’t the spoiled princess he assumes she is. She’s kind enough to play nice with his mom. She ditches the faux charity crew of Stepford Wives for an actual needy charity cause. Her favorite meal is a burger, not a salad. I’m still swooning over Alejandro Montoya, he is going to steal your hearts and live in your memories as one of the best book boyfriends ever!!!!! As she gets to know this stranger, this powerful man, a gradual awareness comes over her that maybe he isn’t the total monster she has been led to believe he is. Their shared secrets of their pasts leads her to discover he may be an ordinary man and possibly worthy of her attention.

Jessie has one thing she wants most in life and, finally, she is that close to getting it. Now the Ryan brothers are stopping her from her dream. But Jessie is a tornado, unstoppable, and she’s going to wreak destruction on the Ryans. She has secrets and a past. She can be their undoing or she could be their redemption. Starts with an arranged marriage taking place. I kind of feel like I stepped into the middle of this book 😬… but it’s not some big mystery, which makes it easy to follow. Nutshell: She hates him but is hot for him / he hates her but is hot for her .. meets forced proximity of arranged marriage. The next Ruthless series is set in Los Angeles amongst the barrios and mafia crime families. The Fierce King reveals the seamier, barbaric, menacing side of the City of Angels.
