If you've been taking Gaviscon for more than 7 days and you're still feeling uncomfortable or in pain, talk to your doctor. What if I forget to take it? For relief from heartburn and indigestion, take 10–20ml of the liquid formulation after meals and at bedtime.The medicinal product Gaviscon Liquid Sachets is an off-white suspension with the odour and flavour of peppermint. For breast fed infants give Gaviscon Infant part way through each feed or meal using a spoon or feeding bottle. The maximum total daily intake (80mL) for adults contains 1018mg of sodium (take into account if on a low sodium diet).

Mix Gaviscon powder (for babies and children under 2) with cool, boiled water or formula milk. Dosage Adults and children 12 years and over: One to two sachets (10-20 ml) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times per day.Sachets: Adults & children over 12 years: 2 sachets. Children 6-12 years: 1 sachet. Not recommended for children under 6 years. Take as required after meals and before going to bed, up to 4 times a day or as directed. If symptoms persist see your doctor. Only give this medicine to your child. Never give it to anyone else, even if their condition appears to be the same, as this could do harm. Gaviscon comes as chewable tablets, or a liquid that you drink (in bottles or in sachets). It also comes as a powder for babies and children under 2 years old.
