About this deal

Orthodontic wax is usually made from paraffin, beeswax or carnauba wax. You can choose from standard wax or flavoured variations, including mint. During the procedure, an endodontist removes the inflamed or infected pulp, sanitizes the inside of the tooth, and fills and seals it with a rubbery material called gutta-percha. Afterward, they’ll cap it with a filling or a crown. If a section of your brace starts to rub the inside of your mouth, apply some wax before it becomes painful. It's safe to continue eating and drinking as usual when using dental wax. While not optimal, there is no need to worry if the dental wax falls off and is swallowed, as it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals. Our Invisalign patients don’t usually have any issues with their aligners. Occasionally, though, the edge of an aligner can feel slightly rough.

Aligners are designed to gradually move your teeth. Because of this, each new aligner will differ ever so slightly from the current position of your teeth. This can sometimes make it a little difficult to get the aligner properly situated. Most of our patients use orthodontic wax at the beginning of their orthodontic treatment, while the soft tissues of their mouth get used to the presence of the braces. Sometimes fixed orthodontic appliances like braces or removable clear aligners or dentures in the mouth are not well-fit in the mouth, which makes them loose or very tight around your lips, gums, and inside of your cheeks. These tight and constant frictions of orthodontic tools are at first common and you should get used to wearing these appliances. Yes and no. Functionally no, they all do the same thing, and roughly with the same effectiveness. From a personal view though, yes, there are differences. The first to be mentioned is that some are made out of animal fats or include the esters of fatty acids gained from animal products, and some rely entirely on beeswax (this is the most common, by the way), and some on vegetable fats and extracts of different plant materials.

When we fit your braces, they’ll feel a bit strange at first. Whether you opt for fixed braces or clear aligners, they’ll take several days to get used to. A dental implant can offer natural-looking and long lasting results, but they tend to be more expensive than other treatment options. But these are just temporary alternatives and are not recommended if you can access to the orthodontics wax.
