About this deal

Hello there. It’s half term here and I have been trying to find things for my two boys to do. They are minecraft mad at the moment. Before we get into the patterns, I want to review a few basics of using fuse beads to make sure you get the best results (using Baby Yoda as an example). If you don’t want the tips, scroll down to the bottom to get the Minecraft hama bead patterns. I couldn’t see many minecraft design sheets on the internet so I’ve put a few together (pdf’s at the foot of the post). You simply print them out and then get crafting. If you don’t have any HAMA beads in the house then you can do some papercrafting instead and have a go at making some paper mosaics. My boys do very little crafting nowadays (they are more interested in science related things and wrestling!). However, they have spent ages this week making minecraft keyrings with HAMA beads.

Perler beads are recommended for ages six and up, so this is a very fun craft to try with children. They love perler beads (also known as hama beads, fuse beads, or melty beads). But don’t be shy – adults love them too! Tips for Using Perler BeadsIt's only been a few months since we introduced Minecraft, but already Harry is pretty well addicted. I did have reservations about getting the game for him, and it is a little concerning how he would play it all day if he could, but I'm also very impressed with how well he gets on with it, he builds all sorts of complicated structures with things that move and so on, and the game really appeals to his mechanical little mind. He’ll laugh at us buying him Hama beads, of course – but I absolutely guarantee that by New Year he’ll have a Steve Mug Mat, and a 3D creeper on his desk.

We made patterns for Steve, creepers, tools, resources, animals, and some other aspects of the game. There are so many elements in Minecraft that we couldn’t get them all. If you have a request we’d love to hear in the comments. We’re always making new patterns!I find it interesting that it’s not just a game for my niece. It’s a creative outlet! And of course, so are the perler beads.

While we were crafting, she was telling me everything she loves about the game. She likes “playing with different people, being able to create her own cities, and talking about the game with friends.” We already have a few peg boards, so that’s him good to get started (and yes, I know he’ll soon be asking for some blues and reds and more greeny/blues and translucent…). One of those really silly presents that you just know is going to turn into hours and hours of fun.
