Proverbs 1:7 “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” Kings 3:12 “Behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has ever been before you, and none like you shall arise after you.”

Most modes of Greek philosophy ask the questions “Must there be an initial cause of all things? What is causing all things that are in existence? How can we know for sure?” And Paul repeatedly answers each of these questions when presenting the Gospel. Paul is an astute scholar, one who is extremely knowledgeable about his beliefs, his culture, and with the beliefs of other people in his culture.

She talks about how children, particularly children under eight, need a lot of free time and play. I wholeheartedly agree. They learn so much through play and exploration and if we are not careful we can fill up their days with school work and not allow them the time needed to play and explore. Julie Polanco writes for healthcare trade journals and parenting magazines in addition to her own books and short stories. King Solomon was the wisest human that has ever lived, or ever will be. He had an immense amount of knowledge about the world and how it worked in addition to a tremendous amount of wisdom. King Solomon was just an ordinary man, but He wanted to be a righteous king, so he asked God for wisdom and discernment. And the Lord graciously gave him what he asked for – and blessed him abundantly on top of that. Repeatedly in the books that Solomon wrote, we are commanded to seek after true godly wisdom, and to run from the temptations of the world. A third, critically important mechanism of schooling as a white good is the ability to control mobility, a process I have called hobbling. Footnote 94

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Solomon wrote, “Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body” (Ecclesiastes 12:12). Any student who has pulled an all-nighter, crammed for a test, memorized an equation, or pored over a textbook can verify the truth of that statement. Solomon’s point was that there are more important things than simply amassing knowledge—namely, fearing God and obeying Him (verses 13-14).Forgotten the title or the author of a book? Julie makes valid points that we all need to consider as moms and teachers. My favorite question she asks us to prayerfully ponder is “What is God’s will for this family?” instead of, “What curriculum should we be using”? Moses was raised with the Egyptians. He received an Egyptian education. Students were taught reading, writing, mathematics, medicine, geography, history, music, and science. The Book of Instruction was used to teach morality, ethics, and humanities. Since Moses was in the royal household, he would have received a specialized education that was reserved for children of the nobility. This included instruction on the ways of court and religious teaching. Many of the children of noble households would leave their education to become priests and scribes.

But why?

In Romans, the apostle Paul uses the word know or knowing eleven times. What are we to know? God’s Word. When we acquire spiritual knowledge and apply it to our lives, we serve the Lord in spirit and truth (Romans 6:11-13). Theology has been called “the queen of the sciences” because our knowledge of God informs every other area of erudition. God Schooling is focused and informed by the child’s passions and their natural bents and interests

An open day is your chance to get a feel for the school, inspect the facilities and chat with pupils and staff. We've a list of questions to ask and essentials to look out for. Julie realized after not too many years that it became a real chore trying to get the kids to do what she thought they should be doing. God Schooling On average, abiders who earned A’s graduated from slightly less selective colleges: schools whose incoming freshman class had an average SAT score of 1135, compared with 1176 at nonabiders’. In summary, I would highly recommend adding this book to your top 10 homeschool book list and as a reference guide. It’s meant to encourage you to pursue your calling as a homeschool teacher and try to understand your child’s motivation and passions.Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, 'If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free'" (John 8:32). There is value in studying God's Word. There is also value in pursuing truth in a general sense. Theology was for centuries known as the Queen of the Sciences because it informed all other study, education, and knowledge. Many abiders made comments about constantly working to emulate and please God, which led them to try to be conscientious and cooperative. This aligns with previous research showing that religiousness is positively correlated with these traits. The Bible teaches us that having knowledge simply isn’t enough. Knowledge is knowing facts about things. But Wisdom is from God alone. Wisdom has three aspects: knowledge about God’s Truth, understanding God’s Truth, and How to Apply God’s Truth. Wisdom is more than just following “the rules.” Wisdom implies acting according to the spirit of God’s Commands and not just looking for a loophole. With wisdom comes a will and a courage to follow through with living by God’s wisdom.
