About this deal

There's lots of things you won't find in these lip balms (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Paraffin and Mineral Oil which derive from petroleum, but are commonly found in most commercial lip products. We don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars on our lips is the healthiest thing we can do, especially when everything on the lips eventually gets eaten. I love not having chapped lips in the winter, but I don’t like regular lip balm from the store. I know there are a lot of natural choices out there, but they can be expensive and hard to find. Plus they still often contain “natural flavors” and artificial fragrances….whatever those might be. Poppy: Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Diisostearyl Malate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Polybutene, Hydrogenated Poly (C6-14 Olefin), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Octyldodecanol, Synthetic Wax, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Mica, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Propylene Carbonate, Tocopherol, Rosin/Colophonium/Colophane, BHT, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Fragrance/Parfum, Limonene, Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410). You agree to indemnify and hold Space NK (and its officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, joint ventures, employees and third-party service providers, including but not limited to Bazaarvoice, Inc.), harmless from all claims, demands, and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of a breach of your representations and warranties set forth above, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Beeswax: Beeswax is naturally hydrating and increases essential moisture in the skin. Commonly found in hand and body creams, beeswax helps to retain natural skin moisture. Re-think basics with NEW LANOLIPS BASIC BALM. A deeply hydrating balm crafted with the world’s best all-natural lanolin from Australia & New Zealand. Made with 100% natural lanolin and combined with added shea butter, jojoba, candelilla wax, vitamin-e, plus it comes in three all-natural flavours:Essential oils . You can use Vanilla Oil, which isn’t a true essential oil but is a natural fragrance oil. You can also use Balsam of Peru, which works well for a true EO. All essential oils are optional. Don’t add them if you don’t have them. that is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libellous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation; Lip balm is a must-have for those of us that live in a dry place and whose lips need some healing, especially in the winter months.. Don’t want to make your own Lip Balm and would rather buy it instead? I love the natural lip balms from Made On!

We also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're pretty common too, including with a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). We avoid a lot of other things too, way too many to list here.Step Two: Remove from heat. Add in the drops of essential oil depending on how strongly you want it flavored (or you don’t have to add any). I added about 12 drops to mine. If you don’t have coconut oil or don’t want to use it, use sweet almond oil, avocado oil, or jojoba oil instead. Learning how to make lip balm is one of the most straightforward beauty products you can make. It took me less than 5 minutes to make this recipe, and I made enough to last a year!

Yes, I have used raw honey in my homemade lip balm and it really moisturizes your lips! What other essential oils can I use in this lip balm? Pink Sugar: Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Diisostearyl Malate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Polybutene, Hydrogenated Poly (C6-14 Olefin), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire microcristalline, Octyldodecanol, Synthetic Wax, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopherol, Propylene Carbonate, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Fragrance/Parfum, Mica, BHT, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Red 6 (CI 15850), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891). And, don’t be afraid to use this lip balm on your whole family. All the ingredients (as written below) are regarded for being gentle and appropriate even for sensitive skin. Look for an unrefined shea butter that retains all its original vitamins. The shea butter is the key in this recipe to combat dryness. This sweet and replenishing homemade vanilla lip balm is simple to make yourself with just a few ingredients, and it’s amazing at keeping your kisser healthy. It’s also perfect for colder weather when our lips need a little extra nourishment. Cera Alba (Beeswax), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soya Bean) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Vanillin, Stevia Rebaudiana Extract. Coconut Oil. I buy mine in bulk from Azure Standard. You can use olive or sunflower oil if you are allergic. I use expeller-pressed coconut oil to avoid the coconut scent, but you can use extra virgin if that’s what you have.

And second, I can control what goes in and what doesn’t go in my lip balm. I was pretty happy with the peppermint formula, but this vanilla version is my favorite. It’s softer thanks to the addition of the sweet almond oil. The only thing I might do differently next time is add a bit more of the vanilla oil as I love all things vanilla. If your current lip balm isn't doing it for you anymore, it's definitely time to make a switch — most likely to something a bit simpler. Connecticut-based board-certified dermatologist Mona Gohara, MD, has previously compared lip balms to quenching your thirst with a can of soda. "You drink something that appeals to the senses with no nutritional value, and shortly thereafter, you are still thirsty," she explains. "The same thing goes for balms loaded with flavor, fragrance, and menthol." That doesn't mean you have to completely avoid tasty or tingly balms; in fact, there are a few we really love on this list. Just be sure to pay attention to what is and isn't working for you. If you want to add some Vitamin E oil or Organic Rosemary Extract to act as a natural preservative, you can do that as well. Just a few drops will do since this is a small recipe.that violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising); Raw Honey ( This is an optional ingredient. You can use any honey, but raw is my favorite and contains antioxidants) I first experimented with making homemade peppermint lip balm last month and loved it. First, all it takes to make it is melting ingredients in a bowl over a double boiler. It’s the easiest craft ever, except when you hand someone a tube and tell them it’s homemade, they will be seriously impressed because it sounds much more difficult than it actually is. Score points for you! In short, yes. You may have heard about safety concerns relating to petroleum jelly (a common ingredient in lip balm) and carcinogens, but all lip balms sold in the UK meet strict EU safety standards. How the GHI tests lip balms Because we make our products for our families, we have a strict ingredient philosophy that excludes ingredients like Parabens, Phenoxyethanol and penetration enhancers.
