I remember smelling this for the first time and saying out loud, "lemon and mimosa!" only to find out mimosa plays no part in its composition. It may have been the evocative name that made me jump there, but it could also have been the fluffy musk and fruity-fluffy carrot seed note. Lots of others fit that category for me from "freshly laundered" (Caesar's Woman, Avon Rare Pearls) to "fancy boutique soaps" (PS Design, vintage Roses, Roses...) Zwitsal is the infamous Dutch baby care brand, and Eau de Zwitsal is the perfect baby soap smell. You'll enjoy it at any age, even if you didn't grow up on it. Eau de Zwitsal is powdery, gentle snuggles, and getting to bed in fresh sheets.

Absent from the article, but mentioned by two here: J. Lo Glow. Liquified 1980s Camay Soap. A lot like Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc, but gentler and more feminine. It's prosaic and yes, a celeb fragrance, but it has lasted because it's such a poem of cleanliness. But just when you think that the verse about cleanliness will start describing innocence and virginity, it has just a hint of sexiness. It's like "I just took a shower, just for you. Come closer. Closer." I do enjoy a soapy scent, they serve a purpose and have a time and place. For me, orange blossom is the scent I most often think of as soapy, though aldehydes as well smell to me like expensive soap. Penhaligon's Castile is the first fragrance that comes to my mind, a quintessential soapy scent, and Chanel No. 5 EDP for the aldehydic expensive soaps that come in a box in pretty shapes.Am sorry, but apparently J-Lo loved the beautiful China Rain perfume oil - as worn by my Godmother + so many people in the 90s (& it was gorgeous gorgeous.) Unfortunately though, she loved it so much, that she copied it (note for note - in the far sharper "Glow" - & it was ok but much less beautiful with far less"rounded out notes. The more recently formulations have become gradually worse each time - & most recent formulation has so much of that "super glue" note that it is like to choke you.

It has more notes than a Shostakovich symphony, but they all add up to violet freshness much like a finely-milled bar of French soap. Tbh I'm wondering whether to try Montblanc Signature bc many ppl wrote that it "smells cheap" - so was a bit worried. Am not sure yet!Pure is not exactly a bar of soap, but the smell of your shower gel for sensitive skin; super streamlined, almost technical clean with a reminiscence of fresh laundry. It is the total fatty matter which determines the soap quality. You can always find this specified in commercial transactions. Types of Skincare Soaps A total dislike in the soapy category goes to Libre which is a clone of the older By of D&G. Way too loud and on the harsh, lavender side of soaps. It's immediate recoil for me because they remind of cheap drug store soap bar. They smell dated and screetchy - lavender never was a classy smell either. I never liked the harshness of Marseille or the perfumy loud notes in soap bar: it spoke to me of times when we had no other way of smelling clean, or "pretty". Always great to read about experiences from other 'noses'. Thanks for sharing. My favorite perfumes with a soap(y) whaft, are: Amber, what amber? This is pure cuddly soapiness and just showered skin. It projects friendly vibes and brings tokens of peace. Perfect for when out on the prowl wanting to appear totally innocent but also magnificently presentable. Ladies love it.
