I've studied the Egyptians at school and the history rang true although I wasn't quite sure if it's really true that Heter was a real horse God, although there was a statue of him. It was mostly all fun (except the epilogue). All the characters were amusing, especially Brutus the one who wears a seaweed wig. I would recommend this book because it is hilarious. I give it nine out of ten because it is a bit scary in parts. The funniest part so far is when Julius calls the gladiators, monkeys! (Katie P, 8) The Dutch translation was really well done. Sometimes humour doesn't get translated well (like with Disc World for instance), but in this one the translator managed to translate and hold the humour. Good job!
