INCLUDES BRAND NEW SINGLE “EMPRESS OF THE DAMNED” FEAT LIGHTS — WATCH (LYRIC VIDEO GOES LIVE ON 9/30)

Official Independent Albums Chart Top 50". Official Charts Company. 31 July – 6 August 2015 . Retrieved 16 October 2018. In short. Not as good as the first album but a stronger more full album then the second. For me, it crosses the line a bit too much into the pop territory and not enough staying in the synth pop vein. Too many similar songs just fly by. Hard to take it in. I just wish some of the songs were a bit more reserved and less over the top. If this becomes big, I'm ok with hearing it on the radio versus other stuff but it will just make me long for the debut album. An odd comparison but endulge me. If I was into heavy metal in 1987 and heard Hysteria by Def Leopard for the first time. That's what playing this album feels like to me. I should like it I guess if I played it all the time but I don't want to really. It's just too over the top. If you liked Yes and then you first heard Asia's debut album. That's what listening to this album feels like. Too many songs hurts the cohesion of the album. Too many similar energy songs. Many sound similar. I don't think any of the chances they took adding other styles worked out well either. Nothing horrible on here. But nothing great and not enough good. Songs I do like: Monster in Paradise, the verses in Holographic Heart and some of the Ghost. Tech Noir 2, Postcard From The American Dream and Lost Shadow aren't bad either. Not sure the techno/trancey sounds really go well with an 80s synth wave band for me on some of the songs. In an equally cyber-futuristic offering, “ Ghost” (Feat. Power Glove), released later last year, asked artificial intelligence to show the world, “What happens after we die?” The cyberpunk tune was accompanied by an AI-generated video. Cutting edge and psychedelic, the video was created via various emerging artificial intelligence and machine learning tools, including OpenAI’s DALL-E, the open-source Stable Diffusion as well as Midjourney.

UNICORN sees GUNSHIP return with their trademark synth-laden atmosphere and continue to evolve the synthwave genre they helped to pioneer. Neon laser light cuts through the deepest darkness on this contemplation of Imagination and how it may be our most important resource.Westaway agreed: "We have been working on this for four years, and we put a lot into what we do, emotionally. It has been a crazy four years, and I think there is a depth to the work that's probably benefitted from that time... It's a bit of a time capsule for us in these last pretty f****ng crazy years." GUNSHIP's Remix of Lionface's "No Hope State" is Dreamy '80s Synthwave (Premiere)". Nerdist. 28 April 2017 . Retrieved 26 December 2017. Metropolis Music Publishing announce the signing of Fightstar's Dan Haigh and Al Westaway's new synth wave project, GUNSHIP". www.recordoftheday.com . Retrieved 15 September 2016. Gunship make a name for themselves by linking their music and video releases with popular culture, whether that be film, like the Blade Runner x The Terminator dystopia in the new era’s first release, “ Monster In Paradise” (Feat. Milkie Way, Dave Lombardo, Tim Cappello, Tyler Bates) or the gaming world, as with “DooM Dance” and previous album single “ Taste Like Venom,” which paid homage to Sega’s classic arcade game Outrun. Haigh, who was previously in Fightstar alongside Westaway, called it their "zero compromise attitude". But, really, it just feels like pure, unfiltered passion. Have you ever introduced someone to Gunship and watched their face contort into ecstasy as they realise this is truly a band like no other? It's quite an experience.

Although Gunship and I have collaborated on many songs together. We’d never actually met until I went to London to do their latest video, ‘Monster In Paradise’. They were everything I knew they’d be, super sweet dudes and the video was a total blast. An honor to be in the same room finally collaborating with these geniuses of synthwave – Timmy Cappello Gunship, Timmy Cappello, and Dave Lombardo is truly a match made in heaven and I’m so happy to be included in this beautiful maelstrom of synth-metal perfection” – Milkie WayPerhaps the star of the video, Milkie Way (the fiery frontwoman of Wargasm), pays homage to the indomitable Sarah Connor from The Terminator films. Driving Sarah’s classic 1983 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade and providing a Terminator style voice over, Milkie initially appears to be giving a performance true to Sarah Connor’s character, although perhaps things are not quite as they seem… Are the machines recruiting humans with a mind-altering silver liquid? Gunship have spent years thinking meticulously about their music, their new album, and what that looks like to them. But the question that has been seared into every fan's brain is: Are they ever going to play music live?
