About this deal

Still a bit concerned having the radiator with in/out at the top and potential fan speed / cfm disparities between AIO fans and 140mm case fans that would be on front. It seems appropriate to plug the AIO fan into the AIO fan header of your MoBo but there is a single AIO cable to manage both the pump and the radiator fans, I think Arctic (AIO builder) recommends using the CPU fan header. The Torrent is unlike most other ATX cases that I’ve run into, but not in a bad way. With the trend toward higher-and-higher TDP hardware, the Torrent seems primed to capitalize on that, with a design that should offer more airflow than any other case I’ve tested yet – hence the name Torrent. Mind that this picture is showing a 360mm radiator with 3 - 140mm fans. I've currently managed to put the radiator in/out at the bottom, it will very likely not be possible with this config. If I understand correctly, if the pump is not above the radiator it's okay, but in this configuration some air could still be trapped in the top part of the radiator making some noise. It would be interesting to see how cases compare to open bench with the same acoustic and thermal tests. Optional front and bottom nylon filters included, allowing the user to prioritize between dust filtering or even higher airflow Firstly, this is just one chart of many tests, so this isnt the "be all end all" for the case being "Bad GPU temps". My guess has nothing to do with volume of the case or it's materials (Seriously?), but more to do with the airflow principle. air must come in and flow out. What is up with o11 XL being so much better than torrent even tho they have the same gpu cooling system (3 fans at the bottom)? And the front 2x Noctua intake is paramount for a standardized proper methodology, but while it make work good in one case with one GPU, it probably won't in another.Built to maximize cooling potential straight out of the box, the Torrent comes with a brand-new component layout and two custom-made 180 x 38 mm Dynamic PWM or Prisma RGB PWM fans. The Torrent is a perfect fit for anyone serious about high-end cooling – with or without a custom water loop. ii think both dust filters on both of of the case should be fine i think? but i think he would remove them for testing?. I will also point out the obvious here as this design eliminates the possibility of a top-mounted radiator or AiO cooler – though the case floor and front intake are available for liquid cooling with up to 420 mm radiators supported in both locations.

Overall customization and ease of use of the Fractal Torrent are very easy and impressive on how much space you have to work with. Technical Specifications of the Fractal Design Torrent Case Dedicated 3.5” drive mounts Storage support is good with the Torrent, as it offers dedicated mounts for 4x 2.5-inch drives and 2x 3.5-inch drives behind the system. The layout is a little different, however, at least for 3.5 inch drives. Alongside their new Torrent case, Fractal has released an update for their existing Ion Platinum series of power supplies. These new PSU models comply with the new ATX 2.52 standard and all ship with two 8-pin ATX12/EPS connectors and enhanced over-current protection. AL-18 supports PWM functions and has a rotational speed between 300 and 1200 RPM max. And producing 43.1 – 146.8 CFM with 0.44 – 2.50 mmH2O static pressure respectively. Hardware Installation and Clearance Compatibility of the Fractal Design Torrent Case

Like the company’s original Ion Platinum series (which we reviewed here), Fractal’s new Ion 2 Platinum lineup ships with 560W, 660W, 760W and 860W models and features ultra-bendable UltraFlex cables. These extra bendable cables are designed to simplify cable management, making Fractal’s latest PSUs incredibly easy to use across a broad range of cases/enclosures. Editor-in-Chief at PC Perspective.
