About this deal

Yes it’s another Irish album because, let’s face it, if there’s one good thing the Irish do (yes we know there’s many many things they’re good at), it’s making amazing music. The entire concert was broadcast live on BBC One as part of that organisation's coverage of Saint Patrick's Day, and the event did much to raise the band's profile. Their manager John Hughes cited second album syndrome as a common source of pressure for all recording artists, but said further demands came from the label, who were concerned that none of the songs they were being presented with seemed like potential hit singles. As The Corrs began to record their new songs, they also worked on finessing their fusion of Celtic folk and contemporary pop-rock, putting in long hours to combine their roots-based inspirations with a sleek 90s gloss. In December, the band set off on a more ambitious UK/European tour, selling out a five-night run at Wembley Arena, as well as selling out a majority of the other dates on the tour.

This essentially Irish sister act (with Corr group Andrea, Caroline, and Sharon on vocals, drums, and violin, respectively, and brother Jim on guitar and keyboards) legitimately brings to mind comparisons with another family-based girl group, Wilson Phillips, particularly since the impulses and instincts are truly pop and not so much alt-traditional Celtic (as they are often cited to be). Among the most popular family acts in Irish history, The Corrs are sisters Andrea, Sharon and Caroline, and brother Jim Corr. The sleeve lists the duration (4:26) for the album version of I Never Loved You Anyway, but it is actually a shorter remixed version. Across haunting acoustic ballads and infectious pop anthems, the album’s subtle fusion of Irish folk with contemporary pop showcased The Corrs’ ability to bridge cultures through their music, strongly resonating with listeners across the generations. Stephen Segerman of South African music magazine Rock rated the album eight out of ten, and complimented it for incorporating a "fuller and rockier atmosphere [than Forgiven, Not Forgotten]".Love in the Milky Way" was performed during the first European leg and some Oceanic dates of the tour. To promote this edition, the band performed as the opening act on several dates of The Rolling Stones' No Security Tour, [20] as well as their own national concert tour and appearances on numerous talk shows: including Saturday Night Live, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman.

Okay maybe my mum would like this, but I don't particularly, so I guess Talk On Corners [Special Edition] is just kinda "there". There are songs that we all love now and that we would never have written alone,” Andrea wrote in her memoir. The Corrs were to continue their commercialisation to detrimental effect with their followup, In Blue; however, even when The Corrs are storming the charts, I'm still "Hopelessly Addicted".The Corrs are a folk pop band from Dundalk, Ireland, consisting of three sisters and one brother from the Corr family, who rose to prominence in the late 1990s and have since sold more than 55 million albums worldwide. Only When I Sleep" replaced "When He's Not Around" as the opening song in December 1998 which included a drum solo from the Lough Erin Shore intro.

With a glamorous music video shot in LA’s Alexandria Hotel – the haunt of famous stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood – Only When I Sleep was a dream-like ballad well worth waking up to, and it vindicated both band and manager when it peaked at No. Only When I Sleep" and " I Never Loved You Anyway" were released as the album's first two singles, with the former becoming a top ten hit in Ireland, [13] while both songs peaked within the top forty of the Australian Singles Chart. He was just this gentle giant,” Caroline Corr said in an interview on The Eleventh Hour with Dave Fanning in 2009.But to a guy like me this is mostly all just wishy washy lovey dovey FM radio crapness with a monotonous beat.
