About this deal

It runs DSM 7 right out of the box. You won't be able to run DSM 6 on it, not that there are many reasons you want to do that. Be reasonable, attentive, and respectful! (No typo-laden, broken-thought, or cryptic comments, please!) Other than the fewer drive bays, both natively and via expansion, and all that implies, the DS723+ is expected to deliver the same performance and overall experience as the DS923+. I have several Apple products and a big PC. I have several 1-2 TB hard drives full of over a decades work.

Synology DS423+ 4 Bay Desktop NAS Storage Server

Because the Synology DiskStation DS723+ is the newer NAS, we’re looking at the AMD Ryzen R1600 processor, which can be found in a few Synology enclosures for the 2022/23 season. It’s an excellent dual-core CPU with a boost speed of 3.1GHz, compared to just 2.7GHz with the older Intel Celeron J4125. Note – You can READ the full article that details all the tests and results of the Synology DS1522+ NAS and WD Red Pro 22TBs over 10GbE HERE. Alternatively, you can watch my YouTube video on these tests (with 5GbE testing too) here on the NASCompares YouTube Channel. Synology DS1522+ with 4x 22TB WD Red Pro RAID 5/10GbE Test – 64MB Like the case of the DS923+, as well as the DS1522+, the new DS723+ is totally different from the previous models in the family. Amazing content, as always. As much as I love the possibility of free stuff, I’d prefer the video content. Powered by the versatile Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, the DS723+ offers comprehensive solutions to protect and manage business data, easily collaborate on documents, access files remotely, and monitor physical assets, all within a compact desktop format.Great video again! I have bought the ds720+ last year with 2 bays and 2x1gb ports. I have a small office with 3 pcs working from the nas as smb file folder so everything is stored on the nas and with mapped folders we work on any pc. May I ask so the transfer speed to read the files is limited to 100mb/sec due to 1gb lab port correct?? If I buy a 10gb nas I will run my files on the synology faster because I do have 2,5bgb lan ports on my pcs?? So it will be 2,5 times faster?? Or the lan ports is for out of the sight use?? the number of connections that can be maintained when the recommended number of hosted files was reached) The NAS system fulfils the promise of high performance in 1GbE operation, not least thanks to the powerful AMD CPU. At the same time, the strength of the 2Bay device lies in its future-proofing. This is ensured by several expansion options. They start with RAM, go through NVMe SSDs and extend to multi-gigabit LAN.

I’m interested in DVR functionality as well. I have 4KUHD, BluRay 1080P, and most importantly DVR files from a HDHomeRun network tuner. Especially the Mpeg2 and Transcode while recording performance. I’m a committed Synology user for the last 10 years and this coupled with the hard drive compatibility issues will finally see me cross over to QNAP. I can’t believe Synology has made this mistake ! No igp… Among the x22 and x23 models, none of them has an igp ? I will keep my DS920+ … Such absolutely pointless decisions on their part. Ah well. I should have held off longer and waited for a USB 4 storage option as this unit is a complete and utter disappointment! The two M.2 slots on the underside of the housing show that the DiskStation DS723+ wants to meet high demands. NVMe SSDs in 2280 size can be inserted here, which can be used for fast caching as well as for additional storage capacity.Hi, there is a typo in the cover picture. Instead of DS1522+ it is written as DS152+. Maybe you want to correct it? DS723+ comes equipped with 2 bays and can scale up to 7 bays with the DX517 expansion unit as your data needs grow. HELP! If I don’t have any Synology NAS and this is disappointing for many, which Synology I should buy??? Synology today announced the official US availability of its model year 2023 dual-bay extension-ready NAS server, the DiskStation DS723+ -- that's DS723 Plus. However when it comes to transcoding a 4K video to 1080p the Synology DS723+ was struggling to keep up and as seen in the metrics below CPU and Memory utilization was reaching its peak. The video was buffering and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. 1080p to 720p conversion faired better and while the CPU utilization peaked again, it hovered around 45% mark after approximately 40 seconds.
