The bottle is in the form of a cat that is a gorgeous purple color and has shiny diamond eyes. Words to describe this perfume: Fruity opening… not bad at all… the peachy, apple-y sweetness is given a clean depth with the bamboo note. Purr is sweet and feminine but doesn't go completely overboard with either of those qualites. The fruity sweetness holds for a longer time than the balancing greenness of the bamboo, which loses its projection much sooner than the fruit notes do. This shifts the balanced opening into a drugstore-cheap generic fruitiness, the quality of which you can find in a couple hundred cheap fragrances. PERRY: Really? I’m kind of a more sunshiny person myself. But maybe that’s why we like each other. You looked really pretty at the Golden Globes, by the way. And the reason is that I love the vanilla cupcake scent. And I use 3 S’s to describe it. Sweet, sexy, and seductive. I love that I can spray it in the morning and can still smell it on my clothes at the end of the day. It takes a long time for the opening to give way to the floral heart notes… or maybe it just seems long. The jasmine / rose dominant heart becomes a relief from the fruity-sweet opening, mainly because the florals cut into the sweetness and broaden the whole heart accord. Softly-projecting, feminine, youthful… nice, even if it's quite generic. It is an amber floral fragrance and the latest perfume of Katy Perry and was launched in 2018. The scent is creamy and sweet. And after only one spray, you will be addicted. Do you remember what you gave me the first time I did SNL? PERRY: I wasn’t allowed to listen to a lot of music growing up. It wasn’t until I started to make my gospel record when I was around 14 or 15 that I started to be exposed to more outside influences. Before that, I was actually really into Christian music. I got all the Beatles’ records, like the “white” album [1968], which was really important to me along with Pet Sounds [1966] by the Beach Boys. Those two records were the only things I listened to for probably two years straight. Then I discovered Patty Griffin, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Jonatha Brooke—a little bit of the Lilith Fair–esque stuff. And then I got into more electronic music. But I’m just open to everything these days. I think that is beautiful, and by spraying this perfume every day, you will be reminded of this and stay motivated.

Of course it goes without saying that this is one of the best perfumes for bottle collectors ever! :D The cat-shaped, jeweled bottle complete with "collar" and charm are, of course, a huge part of the appeal with this fragrance. The first time I ever saw this one in a local department store I was immediately drawn to it like a magnet! PERRY: Yeah. I mean, I started kind of banging it across my parents’ heads that I wanted to do this when I was 9. I would not let it go. It was like, “I want that! Give me that!” WIIG: This is a really dumb question, and yet I still really want to know your answer to it. What do you want to be doing when you’re an 80-year-old woman? Like, do you see yourself in Florida, all tanned and cruising on Miami Beach? PERRY: Yeah, every time, right as I leave my room, there’s a big mirror by the door . . . [ laughs] But, no, I do get really happy. I feel like I give a lot—and I’m not talking about in a numbers sense or a money sense, even though that is there.
