About this deal

The XM2w Wireless Gaming Mouse is the next generation of our acclaimed XM1r, identical in shape, but with lots of internal improvements for less weight and more consistency. We’re actually a fan of how great this software is, it never really gets in the way of the rest of your setup, and it’s minimal enough and easy to use, meaning that there are no bigger headaches, or settings burning underneath layers of different menus. The OP1we, a new smaller mouse shape from Endgame Gear, serves as an addition to the budget-friendly 'wireless essential' lineup.

The outer shape remained identical to the claw grip shape that made the XM1 famous, but on the inside, every single aspect was re-designed. Endgame never explicitly says so, but the XM2we feels comfier with a palm grip than a fingertip pose, as the scroll wheel is small and placed far forward on the body.We never really found this to be an issue for the duration of our testing, but it could be a problem for those who do not have particularly oily hands, or if you have a relatively low body temperature. The skate areas are larger than the XM1(r)'s and can work with various custom skates, including those for XM1 and XM1r. The shell is outfitted with a matte finish that will likely prove divisive, the smooth touch of the mouse could cause it to be slippery, but once your hands heat up its surface, it becomes grippier. When he's not sending his hapless assistant manager off to press conferences, you can find him building the perfect party in Divinity: Original Sin 2 and planning his next small form factor PC. Its everyday appearance would slide entirely under the radar if it weren’t for the USB-C port on the front, which is shrouded in flared plastic moulding that gives the mouse a slightly surprised expression.

The verdict – 5/5: The Endgame Gear XM2we is one of the best gaming mice out there right now, and it might just be one of the best accessible options for any claw grippers out there, too. A CompX CX52850 MCU and a PixArt PAW3370 achieve a consistent report rate of 1000Hz and quick reaction times together with the Kailh GO optical switches. Whereas the XM2w will be using PixArt's PAW3395 sensor along with a dual-core MCU from STMicroelectronics, the XM2we utilizes PixArt's PAW3370 capable of 19,000 CPI in conjunction with a CompX CX52850 MCU, which has previously seen use on several releases from Pulsar, Xtrfy, Fantech, or LAMZU.

Utilising the XM2we Configuration Software, you can adjust the CPI from 50 to 10,000 by increments of 50 CPI, or by 100 CPI between 10,000 and 19,000 CPI. It might not boast the most advanced sensors, or be flush with RGB lights, but it really doesn’t need it. Although the XM2w has a 335 mAh battery, with less than ~63g, the overall weight is about 7g lower than the XM1(r)'s.

It never really breaks out and offers anything particularly exciting, but perhaps you don’t need it to do that. The XM2we is the budget version of the XM2w, whose release is still pending, and thus has been released prior to the XM2w.DPI uses the number of individual points present in series next to one another in the space of an inch.

Alternatively, there are pre-defined CPI settings assigned to the switch on the bottom side of the mouse. The Pixart Wireless 3370 sensor might not be the newest thing in the world, but really what matters is its implementation. coming in at just 63g, this is one of the lightest wireless mice that we’ve ever tested, and given all of the limitations that usually come with that, we were expecting the mouse to fall short in some areas. The Endgame Gear XM2we’s software experience is lightweight, offering key remapping, adjustable debounce, adjustable CPI stages, polling, and liftoff distances.By accepting all cookies, you agree to our use of cookies to deliver and maintain our services and site, improve the quality of Reddit, personalize Reddit content and advertising, and measure the effectiveness of advertising. CPI, or Counts per Inch, is actually a more accurate measurement of a mouse’s tracking capabilities. It features a CompX CX52850 MCU and a PixArt PAW3370, enabling a consistent report rate of 1000Hz and swift reaction times.
