About this deal

Another thrilling edge of your seat book by Archer, as we are now on the 4th episode of the Clifton family chronicles. Relevancy is introduced when an emotional or financial or similar scar or trait continues to affect developments through decades. Be Careful What You Wish For showcases the master storyteller's talent as never before – when the Clifton and Barrington families march forward into the sixties, in this epic tale of love, revenge, ambition and betrayal. Be Careful What You Wish For is the fourth novel in the Clifton Chronicles, set primarily in England and spanning the years 1957 to 1964. Jeffrey Archer forces me, and other readers alike, to wait a whole year before we can get the book 5 in the Clifton Chronicles?

It is forbidden to copy anything for publication elsewhere without written permission from the copyright holder. Many characters touched my heart and their lives took so many unexpected twists, which has surely blown my mind. And those who have not read the previous volumes I suggest reading the thriller volumes first as you won't be able to understand the story if won't read them first. The fifth book In his new William Warwick novels - the first of which, Nothing Ventured, was published in 2019 - is NEXT IN LINE which will be out in September 2022. It was also made into a successful serial for BBC Radio 4, and was later televised in 1990 by the BBC.In the next novel in the series BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, Archer’s plot revolves around the Barrington family and the machinations of Don Pedro Martinez, an international criminal who blames Harry Clifton for the death of his son, and Alex Fisher who attended boarding school with Giles Barrington and continues to seek revenge against Giles and his family dating back to their days in boarding school and the loss of a recent parliamentary election. Owen nodded, and the mortician pulled back the sheet to reveal a scarred and battered face that Emma recognized immediately. He reluctantly turned over and blinked at the little phosphorescent green hands on the bedside clock: 6:43 a. Jeffrey Archer, whom I remember as "the storyteller in the class of Dumas" from one of his early blurbs, is still going strong.

Similar to the previous books, the Barringtons/Clifton's constantly try to thwart the devastating blows that are thrown their way by ruthless people who only want to see their demise. Archer's characters, even in the midst of blazing run-ins maintain their British elegance and dry sense of humour. When I was in Class 7, my father recommended the first Jeffrey Archer novel I read - Not A Penny More, Not A Penny Less. He won the Prix Relay du Roman d’Évasion, a prize that rewards a novel in which readers can ‘escape from everyday life’, for his novel Paths of Glory, and the Prix Polar International Prize for the best international thriller of the year, for his novel A Prisoner of Birth.

He served five years as a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons and has served twenty-seven years as a Member of the House of Lords. I'm still reeling over one sadly inevitable outcome and am genuinely on edge as to the fate of some of my favourite characters.

Emma replaced the receiver, but it was some time before she could gather enough strength to stand up.Each character has their own agenda and through a series of complex machinations Archer builds disparate segments of the story which come together in a rather dramatic fashion.

Neste volume, Jeffrey Archer dá continuidade à saga das famílias Clifton e Barrington, mas, na minha opinião este livro prendeu-se mais com os meandros dos negócios e da política e menos com as suas personagens. The Clifton family saga has turned out to be a masterful mix of fiction in a factually correct world, quirks of logical people and speedy action backed by a lot of thought. Continuing with the fourth installment of Clifton Chronicles, this takes the reader through the lives of the Barrington and Clifton families. Archer begins in the late 1950s with Harry and Emma taking the lead and moves on to Don Pedro Martinez, Cedric Hardcastle, a bluff Yorkshireman and dowdy old banker who plays a significant role, Major Alex Fisher, Giles Barrington, Sebastian and Jessica Clifton, and Don Pedro’s son Diego. He opened the door, and she climbed in and sank into the leather upholstery, as if she was an old lady. After the Comet had taken off, Harry rejected the glass of champagne offered by a smiling air hostess, but then how could she know he had nothing to smile about?
