About this deal

From 8Bitdo, the Hori Split Pad Pro, and the incredible official Pro Controller, you can even grab an officially licensed Nintendo 64 controller for the system!

Aside from Nintendo’s console, this includes support for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows via XInput, or DirectInput for older titles. I played through all of Red Dead Redemption 2 with Gyro Aim and a Switch Pro Controller, and it was incredible, but the KingKong 2 Pro’s delay with its gyroscope changes the feeling of smooth, linear, direct and immersive aiming into something that feels like it’s momentum based. I wouldn’t know, I wasn’t a game developer in the 7th Console Generation, and would need the opinion of an industry veteran. I will use the sticks mostly for shooting and then tilt the controller slightly to get the crosshair perfectly where it needs to be to achieve great headshots. A companion software would also help with updating the firmware of the controller which GuliKit regularly does.Perhaps Spec Ops the Line was made for the octagonal range shape of an Xbox 360 controller that regularly overshoots some values to make sure that this problem doesn’t happen. When I was testing Splatoon 3, I put it down and reached for the Switch Pro Controller and turned it into a bystander.

They are explained in the user manual but having a dedicated app to tune those settings would have enhanced the user experience and the overall user-friendliness of the KingKong 2 Pro. Can be recognized as Xbox 360 controller and Switch Pro controller when the controller is in XInput mode and Switch mode respectively. I'm gentle with my tech and only the Switch and Index controller sticks seem to break if you look at them wrong. My understanding is that if you're gonna get one, make sure you don't get the KingKong Pro or KingKong 2 controllers, as both have caveats (ALPS sticks, less additional features respectively). I’m assuming that KingKong 2 is an extremely rough translation of whatever it means in the native language. In Switch wireless mode on Steam the controller seems to be able to handle simultaneous input fine, but latency can be noticeable the more inputs are held, and sometimes it looks like very short inputs are missed, mainly when hammering many other buttons. Unlike some third-party controllers like 8BitDo’s Ultimate Bluetooth Controller and Pro 2, the GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro doesn’t have rear paddles, so what you see on the front is what you get. Moreover, you can calibrate the a number of the controller’s features like the ZL/ZR triggers’ sensitivity, vibration intensity, stick sensitivity, dead zone and swapping A-B/X-Y. The controller feels a bit bigger but comfortable with the texture I don't feel greasing playing long sessions or multiple days. Despite the bulky footprint of GuliKit’s controller, the case is a nice addition if you want to throw it into your bag without worrying about damage.

They feel wooden and dead, offering little tactile feedback when reaching their full range of action, and feeling frictionless when rapidly pulled. Also in the box is a cute clear plastic case for the controller, which is handy for keeping dust, dirt, grime, and other stuff off it as much as you can. A: Applying lubricating oil to the buttons (including inside the springs for buttons) can make them smoother and more durable. It CAN do NFC for sure, and it does have 3 levels of feedback vibration but there is no HD Rumble incorporated.Controllers have had firmware since the WiiU’s Gamepad as far as my knowledge goes, but I can’t imagine this much software built-in gives the controller good latency compared to what’s offered by Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo, but what if you decide to just ignore Zero Dead Zone mode and play Splatoon 3 with the controller’s gyro aim?
