Pedals, and their use is often a debated topic. Theoretically they don’t make us play better, but they can make our playing feel and sound better to our ears. The new sounds and excitement of a new product at our feet can give us a different type of inspiration and take our playing to some new places. But that doesn't have to cost a lot. If you love players like John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa, Joe Perry or any other Klon aficionado, the Horseman is a great way to get into that tonal ballpark on a budget. It even has a secondary mode that allows you to channel the tonal character of the Silver or Gold Klons.

Today’s market features so many brands that you might get lost while looking for the best reverb pedal out there. We have talked about this many times, but today I wanted to mention something that we do not usually underline – smaller, lesser-known brands can be extremely capable as well. More often than not they are looked down on due to the fact that some of them manufacture their products in China. However, that does not necessarily indicate on poor quality and those devices can be quite amazing in terms of sound and features. What I am trying to say is that as musicians, we have to be open to newer possibilities and never judge a book by its cover. Who knows, an inexpensive pedal might become your best friend regardless of the country it was produced in. You do actually have to try out some of the stompboxes out there and see if they work for you. Otherwise, you will miss out on so many great things! The reason why I talked about this subject is that today we are discussing NUX and their Atlantic Delay & Reverb. This brand is known to manufacture the clones of renowned pedals, however, that is not always the case (they are not exact replicas). The Strymon has a lot more control parameters for the delay, which the Atlantic doesn't of course. I only use the tape-type model on the Atlantic - I have it and the Strymon as a 'last-in-line' delay on their respective boards (after an EH Hazerai and Timeline/ Boss DD-6 doing various other delay effects). The Atlantic sounds good enough but I just prefer the tweakability of the El Cap. I also found it too easy to lose the delays amongst the reverb - but maybe that is just me SUMMARY: A very good value unit, with effects that place it in a category above its Artist Guitars cost point. (And yes, I shopped around on price, and AG came in best.)
