About this deal

It appears marketing people throughout the industry now consider a Pale Ale to be one of those vaguely citrussy golden things. As a former marketer, I know that marketing is capable of communicating what’s special about a product in simple, targeted, motivating terms, to a segment of people who will be grateful for the information, connecting stories that deserve to be heard with people who want to hear them. In that connection we may share your Personal Data with the following group companies (known as the ‘CMBC Group Entities’): If you look at a bottle of Marston’s Pedigree, you will see it described as an amber ale.

Say what you like: the defining feature of craft beer is distressed type and a style of graphic design that was briefly fashionable ten years ago. The pub companies must have made millions cashing in on the property ground values which Bass had built up over 200 years. The funny thing is, beneath all the hoo-ha about the clumsy re-brand, there is actually something interesting going on: Pedigree is now bottle-conditioned. Or, if you enjoy a stronger beer with a more hoppy aroma, you’ve got their Old Empire IPA which is absolutely stunning. any member of the Carlsberg Shareholder’s group, which means its other subsidiaries, its shareholders, the ultimate holding company of the Carlsberg Shareholder's group and its subsidiaries (‘Carlsberg Group Entities’ ); and We are part of a global group of companies.

Palm seemed more grounded, less aspirational – it’s symbol of a Brabant Shire Horse the perfect manifestation.

Bottle conditioned beers contain live yeast, which smooths and enhances the depth of flavour of the beer over time. I worked at Bass all my working life moving through many jobs from office boy at 14years old to HQ development manager retiring job before it was destroyed by government. On other occasions we’ve found their beer dull but rarely dreadful, and even then we’re fairly sure it’s been the fault of the pub. While the tourists may not have been beer connoisseurs, Draught Bass seemed to rise invariably to the top of the ratings list, having sampled 50 plus differing real ales during the typical tour. Given the pig’s arse Marston’s have made of the branding, I am pleasantly surprised to report that the beer itself has improved. I’ve been drinking Cask Bass Ale well kept at Tennents Bar in Glasgow for years – it’s been a treat for my regular Glasgow ale trips – tonight (June 2019) it wasn’t on tap and sounds like it may no longer be available- I’m devastated!
