About this deal

If you are on the hunt for something similar to the Festool 496692, but one that is affordable, we recommend you get the Mirka MVB35. The tool is designed to work on flat surfaces, but it can handle small bumps and uneven surfaces. First, you the Mirka is available in 2 sizes; 8-inches and 6.6-inches but this is a review of the later. We recommend the 8-inch Mirka for sanding larger flat surfaces that don’t require that much maneuverability. The 6.6-inch Mirka is for flat areas that need more control. The 496692 is arguably the best unit here were it not for the fact that this unit is pricey; several times the price of any other tool on this list. However, it has some excellent features to warrant that price. One is the dust extraction but more on that later.

Ergonomic – The Festool 496962 is designed to be easy to use. First, the corners are rounder on the burr layer, so your workpiece doesn’t sustain damage. Moreover, the sanding pad is soft and thus adjusts to the shape of the surface you are sanding. It is best for sanding rough areas. Finally, the handle is designed to sit naturally in your hands allowing you to work for long hours with ease. Ergonomic – One strong point of the Aouker is that it is easy to use. First, it has a 7.1-inch size allowing you to sand a rather large area with relative ease. The bottom too is soft allowing you to sand contoured surfaces as it will adjust to the shape of the surface. Finally, it includes a padded handle, so it is easier to grip, and for comfort. Build – First, the unit is made of 2 injection molded plastic parts that clip together. The top molding sits in your hand well and feels natural. You will also appreciate the lip as it allows you to get into tight spots. Moreover, the top part can be unclipped resulting in a thin but robust pad. The 3M uses a standard clip-on system so attaching sandpaper is rather effortless. It also keeps the paper in place. However, our top features were that it works in wet and dry conditions and that it is easy to use. Another remarkable feature of the 34436 is that it has dimpled rubber that allows it to adjust to any uneven surface while maintaining the tautness of the abrasive. However our best features were the ergonomics, and that it is easy to use.srpshortcode id=”21552″][/srpshortcode][srpshortcode id=”21553″][/srpshortcode][srpshortcode id=”21554″][/srpshortcode] Ergonomics – The Mirka MVBH35 is designed to sit comfortably in your palm. The top is contoured, and thus it is cozy. You can work with the MVBH35 for hours on end without fatigue. When you sand, you’re scraping away material from the surface to remove imperfections or to shape and contour edges. The goal is to start with the sandpaper that’s just coarse enough to remove the worst defects easily. Starting with sandpaper that’s too coarse will mean extra sanding later with finer-grit papers to remove the deep scratches left by the coarse grit. On the other hand, if you start with sandpaper that’s too fine, it’ll take forever to sand out defects. In most cases, 80-grit paper is a good starting point for sanding planed or shaped wood. Start with 100-grit if the wood is already smooth with no deep scratches, planer marks or other surface defects. First, the tool is lightweight at 2.4-ounces, and thus you can use it for long hours with ease. It is also ergonomic but more on that later. It allows you to use 1/3 of a standard sandpaper thanks to the metal clips.

Ergonomics – First, the 34436 is a lightweight unit, and thus you can use it for long hours with relative ease. Furthermore, the grip is contoured, so it is easy to grip. A piece of wood measuring around 3/4 in. x 1-1/2 in. x 4-1/2 in is around the right size to get you started. First, the tool is massive with a 7.5-inch length allowing you to sand larger areas in one pass. It also allows you to complete larger tasks with relative ease. However, our best features were that it is ergonomic, and the dust extraction. Festool, the German toolmaker, is renowned for the quality of their products. However, their products are also pricey, but not the 583129. This is a premium but affordable product and one we recommend to be in every carpenter’s or painter’s toolkit.Quality – The Timesetl is ABS plastic allowing it to withstand abuse. Thus you can expect it to last and handle challenging smoothing jobs. Moreover, the handle is padded increasing the comfort. It also happens to be non-slip even when working in wet conditions. You can expect to use this tool for lengthy periods with relative ease. The Timesetl resembles the Aouker HS85180 albeit with some differences. First, the tool has a soft sanding surface that allows it to adjust to any contoured surface. It is thus ideal when working on bumpy walls or rough wood pieces. You will also appreciate the metal clips which are slightly more comfortable to use than the Aouker’s. They are ergonomically designed, and thus you need less effort to attach the abrasive. Moreover, they are solidly built to last you for long, and they will ensure your sandpaper is ever in space.
