About this deal

None of the bonus features are on the 4K disc so the only reason to visit the main menu at all is to turn on subtitles if you need to. Through a myriad of elaborate traps and devices, Kevin will learn how to outthink a pair of bumbling criminals, and through the bizarre circumstances he finds himself in, he'll also learn the value of family.

but I lumped the film in the holiday genre, thinking it had little replay value due to the ever present "message" being preached throughout. At the end of their ropes, Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) have turned to burglarize the rich homes of a Chicago suburb while families are away on their Christmas holiday vacations to get by. We all love Home Alone and this one will continue to make us all laugh for years to come that's for sure. Written and produced by John Hughes, this madcap slapstick adventure features an all-star supporting cast including Catherine O'Hara and John Heard as Kevin's parents, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stem as the burglars, and John Candy as the "Polka King of the Midwest.

The original Blu-ray and previous home video releases were always nice and bright and colorful, but now there's a feeling of warmth to the colors that are befitting of a holiday movie. And I'm certainly not a fan of watching characters discover true meanings of life or family or giving or friendship around the holidays. But faces aren't the only part of this presentation coming across a bit soft, as detail in general is subpar, and a few softer shots (mostly in wider establishing shots) are very jarring. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. While initially soft on fine details due to the credits, the image immediately takes on a warmer tone and feel when we enter the family home. His family (and extended family, and extended extended family) is getting ready for a trip to France when Kevin creates a scene, and is banished to the attic for the night, wishing his family would just disappear. On the evening before his family leave for their Christmas break to Paris, Kevin is banished to his room for misbehaving by his mother Kate (Catherine O'Hara).

The highlight of this track is the score by John Williams, as it deserves the attention it receives in this mix.

Home Alone has assumed such an iconic status over the years that my hunch is virtually everyone knows the basics of the plot.
