About this deal

Production and marketing costs aside, one of the key differences is in the quality of the down used. Zip caught inner baffle at bottom on first try, took almost 5 mins to free without causing damage, caught 3 more times trying to open or close. Our community has been around for many years and pride ourselves on offering unbiased, critical discussion among people of all different backgrounds. The OEX Leviathan EV 900 is a 4-season down-filled mummy sleeping bag sold by UK outdoor retailers GO Outdoors, Blacks, Millets and Ultimate Outdoors. It will retain a layer of warmth around your body more effectively, staying warmer to keep you more comfortable.

Luckily, you only sleep in this thing, meaning your primary interactions with it will be in the dark.Overall this is a decent bag for the money and if you remember that it is a budget bag you will be okay. I’m certain you’ll be alright in a standard Rab Ascent length at 6’1”as that’s within their recommendation. the bag won’t weigh you down on your adventures and comes with a compression stuff sack for space-saving on wild camps and multi-day expeditions, as well as a breathable mesh bag which helps the down relax during longer storage periods at home. I've been doing my usual procrastinating at work and have been looking at deals on 4 season sleeping bags. It also comes with a huge shoulder baffle, a comfortable hood that can be cinched tight around your head, and a handy little pocket on the zipper, suitable for small nick-nacks in the night.

You need fewer feathers the higher the fill power, so down products made with down of a higher fill power (750 or 900) will normally be lighter, more packable and pricier as a result. Missed payments will show on your credit file potentially making credit harder to obtain and will result in late fees being added to the debt. Leading the race at the moment is the RAB ascent 700 XL until I can try the Alpkit bags and the OEX. The 900gsm / 600 fill power duck down insulation has a hydrophobic coating that makes it very practical for winter camping - it retains its loft if it gets damp, so it still keeps you warm in cold and clammy conditions.

It lofts well (lay it out, give it a shake and give it time to expand) and it will keep you comfortably warm in minus temperatures. FP ranges from 500-1000 and is a measure of the fineness of the down which as the number increases provides more loft and insulation using less down. OEX list this bag as having a comfort temperature of -9 degrees Celsius, a lower limit of -16 and an extreme rating of -39. Ive used it this November in Scotland where temperatures just dipped below freezing and it was fine, just about.

After years of messing about I now use a two bag system that together weighs 1080g and can handle -8deg. We’d bet that you’d see the Leviathan’s unmistakable off-yellow hue emanating from at least a quarter of them.As mentioned, we bought it back at the end of summer 2020 and have used it innumerable times over the years. If you went for a Rab Ascent 900 (or any 4 season bag) for the cold, you’ll hate it in the warmer months and also be lugging around unnecessary weight. I have one, bought especially for trips to the lakes over two cold winters and down to -3 is the lowest I have experienced and delighted that I remained warm throughout. For UK use, however, we think the bag delivers enough warmth to reasonably be considered a true 4-season sleeping bag, and we’re happy with its performance overall.

the bag is a lightweight addition to your kit and comes stuffed with features that make your night’s sleep more practical and enjoyable. Borrowing more than you can afford or paying late may negatively impact your financial status and ability to obtain credit.Looks a not unreasonable spec for the money - 600 fill power, but 900gms, whereas a Rab Ascent 700 has a higher fill power (650) but has 700gms. As he got older, the hills got bigger, and his passion for spending quality time in the great outdoors only grew - falling in love with wild camping, long-distance hiking, bikepacking and fastpacking. It’s easy to throw this thing into the bottom of any backpack, and you can vacuum seal it in a dry bag to mould it into an optimal shape.
