She has previously made a film about Cory, a surfer who was badly injured as a result of the actions of his rival, Kit Foley. Now, obviously with this being romance they're destined to fall in love, but damn do they make things difficult! Everything felt like one big, metaphorical chess game—a literal one too (that scene was simultaneously the most/least literally sexy thing I've ever read). This book was set in the world of snowboarding, and to a lesser extent surfing, both of which use similar skills.Kit is reluctant to tell Clover anything because of the bad press reports she's gave him in the past.

Kit is determined to be uncooperative, fearing that they will not be objective in how they represent his side of the story. Kit has been accused of breaching Cory’s priority on a specific wave, blocking his line and effectively forcing him under the water. With the snowy location this story felt wonderfully festive, even though the festivities were not the focus of the story.Clover is an award winning documentary maker, currently riding high with her documentary about Cory, a champion surfer who had a terrible accident that ended his career and changed his whole life, due to the actions of fellow champion surfer, Kit. However, Kit’s arm has been twisted to accommodate them at the chalet where he and his household are living, but the anger, resentment and resistance are palpable. Not least because it features the world of snow boarding on a super pipe for fabulous tricks, and to a lesser extent some of the world of surfing.
