Sublimation on a 100% Cotton T-Shirt with Siser® EasySubli® HTV, Sawgrass SG400, & Cricut Explore Air 2

The rollers on the EcoTank printer especially are so close to the printed area that I end up with roller marks. These last few items are likely already in your craft arsenal, but were necessary to complete this project:

The Latest Innovation in Sublimation!

Siser EasySubli Ink by Sawgrass is set of sublimation inks manufactured and re-formulated with a special color profile to provide the best results on EasySubli HTV. EasySubli Inks, used in the Sawgrass SG400 and SG800, can also be used on traditional sublimation paper and projects as well where EasySubli HTV is not used. Place a sheet of EasySubli HTV into your sublimation printer (I'm using my Sawgrass SG400) with the sheet oriented so you print on the rough side (As is the case with all sublimation, the printed image will seem dull and faded) Here’s my shirt after pressing with this method. These colors aren’t exactly what I had intended. The original file is more pastel, especially the lighter colors, and the greens are quite a bit different. It’s okay, it still looks great. Siser EasySubli is different than regular sublimation paper and HTV. Depending on the sublimation printer you have, you can print directly onto the EasySubli surface or you can use it as a base HTV to apply a sublimation print to. Yup it's print and cut....with the new Siser EasySubli printable Heat Transfer material using a sublimation printer and Silhouette cutting machine. I think the concept is a bit difficult to understand at first because it's not like traditional sublimation and there's already printable HTV on the market that you can use with your home inkjet printer - but EasySubli is where they collide. You are actually sublimating directly onto the heat transfer material rather than the final good - like a t-shirt. There are both pros and cons to this.

That’s why it can’t be understated what an innovation being able to press sublimation transfers at 310°F is… your garments will thank you for it!I mentioned above that when using my Epson sublimation printer I have not had success printing directly onto the EasySubli paper. These are the issues I’ve had: You already know Siser® Glitter HTV can be sublimated, but what if you want to spare yourself the sparkle? Siser has the sublimation solution for you! Now offering, EasySubli®, the matte heat transfer vinyl that’s receptive to sublimation inks! Siser EasySubli HTV is the key to decorating colored polyester (excluding sublimated polyester garments) and cotton blends. Never be limited to white polyester again when you switch to EasySubli! Also compatible with the Sawgrass Virtuoso SG800 (SG800 discontinued for SG1000) desktop sublimation printer.

It is possible, but not recommended or necessary that you flush the ink in a Sawgrass SG400 or Sawgrass SG800 to replace it with EasySubli inks. The reality is swapping inks isn't necessary - you can get just fine results using the sublimation inks you already have in your ink Sawgrass (or other) sublimation printer. Select “Continue”, title your file, add tags if you’d like, and be sure to save the image as a “Print Then Cut” file. To use Siser EasySubli with printers that aren’t Sawgrass, I have another option that works well and eliminates the problems that I’ve run into below. EasySubli Printing Issues I have to admit it took me months of talking directly with Sawgrass and Siser to fully understand this heat transfer vinyl-meets-sublimation product. All they had to do was tell me...Melissa, EasySubli is printable heat transfer material using a sublimation printer which results in sublimation-quality color prints that can be applied to cotton and darks!

Let me try to answer some of the most FAQ on Siser EasySubli for you so you can decide if it's a product and process you want to try! Regular sublimation also needs to be applied at high temperatures for longer time periods (for example, 400°F for 45 seconds). Siser Easy Subli has a much shorter press and heat time of 310°F for 15 seconds (on a shirt).
