Looking not dissimilar to the ProCook loaf tin above, this tin is a good option if you favour the appearance of wider cakes. We tested these 2lb loaf tins using olive’s delicious Amalfi lemon loaf cake recipe, but loaf tins are endlessly versatile and can be used to make a whole range of sweet, savoury, hot and cold foods. Most loaf pans (with the exception of Pullman style) are wider at the top than at the base so this distinction matters. There are loaf cakes, of course – try lime and pistachio loaf cake, Maltesers marble cake or Vietnamese coffee loaf cake. With a high abrasion resistance, it is perfectly safe to use metal utensils without damaging the tin while distributing and retaining heat for consistent results every time.

However I find 500g of flour is not quite enough to make two pounds of dough, so I use 550g of flour. They do vary quite a bit from brand to brand but this should help you understand what you have got if you have one already. Only a thin lip runs the perimeter of the loaf tin, meaning it wasn’t as easy to remove from the oven as some of the others on this list. Its reinforced superior Black Diamond non-stick coating is seven times stronger than other coatings preventing food from sticking for an effortless release and exceptional clean.
