As with most cordless lawn mowers in this class and at this price range, there is no mulching facility with this Bosch mower. The Bosch handle design is ergonomically shaped, adjustable and multi-functional allowing for a better body posture and reduced muscle strain. Bosch named this their new “Ergoflex System” and it really does assist in making mowing the lawn that bit easier. Before we look at the batteries on this mower, it’s important to know that Bosch lead the way with lithium ion battery technology and continue that development to this day.
Top Tip: You get a 2 year warranty with your new mower as standard, but you can upgrade that to 3 years for free if you register it with Bosch after purchasing. A fully charged battery can mow up to 300m² or around 30 minutes run time depending on length and condition of the lawn. Again, this outperforms the Flymo at 250m², well done Bosch.Now, 90 minutes is in itself very respectable when you compare it to the almost 2 hours charge time for its rival the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300. The Rotak 32 is designed to help you maintain your garden in perfect shape, and is easy for everyone to use, even if it’s their first time using a lawnmower. One person mentioned that the Rotak 32 is so easy to use that although she’s in a wheelchair, she has no problem using it. What sets this mower out above the rest is the incredible performance in collecting 99% of the grass clippings. Does this make it better than the Flymo? Yes, not only the Flymo but almost all of the mowers I have tested. The Bosch Rotak 32 LI will not disappoint when it comes to collecting and emptying the grass clippings.
The Rotak 32 lawnmower is quite powerful and user-friendly and is ideal for small and medium sized gardens of up to 150m². Many of them also mentioned the fact that the lawnmower is pretty easy to manoeuvre and is perfect for tight and not very accessible spots.There’s not really a lot to say about assembly, other than ………it’s simple! It should take you no longer than about 10 minutes to take this out of the box and then put it together. I say “to put together” but all you actually need to do is fasten the handles on using a screwdriver, then clip on the grass box. The catch phrase “simples” comes to mind here. Bosch Rotak 32 Review – Performance Motor– This mower is not built like a powerhouse – but the motor you get is still absolutely top notch. I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful this thing was. The cutting diameter of the mower may seem a little on the small size with only a 32cm mowing capability, but that is 2cm larger than its rival the Flymo 300. Now, compared to its other counterparts with widths of up to 43cm, this might be a potential disadvantage; however, it could also be beneficial if it’s to be used in a smaller areas and lawns with more narrow strips.

However,this does depend on lawn conditions, density, moisture content and length as well as height of cut and this capacity can also be increased by purchasing a higher capacity Ah battery from Bosch. It’s also worth noting that the battery and charger can be used with the other cordless tools in Bosch's 36V Power For All range, and could save you money if you were to buy their hedge trimmer, leaf blower or grass trimmer. Does this make it more practical compared to the closest competition? Well, yes I think it does for people with smaller lawns and limited space for storage. There is also a very handy and well positioned central handle that makes carrying the almost 10 kg mower to the garage or shed nice and easy. Maneuverability –The light weight means the mower is so, so maneuverable when you’re mowing. Corners are a breeze and pushing this thing will definitely not tire you out. Fact! As mentioned above this Bosch has combs on either side that guide the grass into the path of the blades, meaning you really are getting the full 32cm cutting diameter. These combs reduce the amount of trimming around the edges when the mowing is done.
What’s the Downside…?
They found the cord to be of reasonable length, although if you have a larger garden you may want to use an extension as well. The Bosch Rotak 32 LI Ergo-Flex Cordless lawn mower is quite easily the most feature rich, high quality model currently on the market. The light weight, small size and fold away handles make this mower excellent for smaller lawns or lawns with smaller strips of grass. Like many cordless lawn mowers, the Bosch Rotak 32 LI is powered by a Lithium-ion battery (36V) and electrical motor which will charge in around 90-100 minutes. The battery is removed from the mower for charging and storage.
The grass box on the Bosch Rotak 32 LI is very well engineered and is extremely easy to remove, the grass clippings empty from the box with no obstructions. Grass Box– The grass box does seem a little flimsy to be honest with you, but hey, it does the job. The capacity is only 31 litres but the mower is only designed for small lawns so that’s why you get a small capacity box. Like a stripey lawn? Well the Bosch Rotak 32 LI does come with an Integrated Rear Roller for a lovely stripey lawn.Below I’ll be detailing all the features and functions of the Bosch Rotak 32 LI Ergo-Flex, both good and not so good and then comparing to the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 so you understand exactly what you’re getting for your money.
