About this deal

The big issue for me was the fight descriptions! Any fight with a main character: great! But why all the tournament fights with random people?

Iron prince is so good : r/ProgressionFantasy - Reddit Iron prince is so good : r/ProgressionFantasy - Reddit

Our main character (Rei) is a scrappy underdog who's incredibly, amazingly miserable childhood has given him an iron will and insane work ethic. He's also a genius. Unfortunately his crippled body has set him up for failure because in this universe where iron will, insane work ethic, and genius intellect are worth their weight in unobtanium, and physical weaknesses are trivially solved with fantastic technology and an insane work ethic... almost everyone judges each other immediately almost entirely based on physical strength? Awesomeness by Analysis: She has a talent for reading opponents in the middle of battle. It’s seen in her fight with Logan in the intra-school SCT, where she reads him like a book, allowing her to win. The Last of These Is Not Like the Others: The other six CAD types are standardized. Atypicals are not.So, about this powerful Ubersuit that the MC has. CADs go from F0 all the way to S in their individual stats. When someone initially gets a CAD hopefully they'll be at least in the high Es, being in the low D's means you have an actual shot of getting into the really good Academies. Being in the high D's means you are right around the best of the 18 year olds. After you graduate hopefully you'll be in the decent Bs (this part I'm more guessing on because while they talk a lot about initial specs in general the talk about later specs is all specifically in the context of the elite Academy they are a part of) but if you want to be elite enough to play sports all day instead of dying on the front-line you'll need to be very high-B or low A. You increase by putting in tons of hard work, but the effectiveness of this is governed by your Growth Stat. A Normal person's Growth stat will start at that normal E to D range and pretty much stay there for their entire career, while all their other stats go up to (hopefully) Bs, As, or even S. As for Grant, the kid has Issues. Plural. Not your normal book trope issues but real, deeply embedded issues that impact every facet of his life without him realizing it. The kind of issues that real people walk around with every day. He is one of the better characters I have come across lately. A defensive specialist class, with high Endurance to boot. This is the only class to carry a shield, in addition to armor. And can I tap into your book suggestive skills once more, what should I read next? I love the ostracized, underpowered, underdoggy, and seemingly weak MCs. Lindon and his journey was well crafted and I especially loved the 3rd party perspectives on just how much of a "monster" he became as the story went on. And The Iron Prince did something similar, ableit not as pronounced. And I'll save you some trouble and list out some of my favorites and already completed books. I'm almost a 3rd of the way in and I'm enjoying it. I like how the people around the main character are more positive than you expect them to be. There are still difficult people, but there are more reasonable characters with better criticism thinking skills than one would expect from this kind of story.

The Primary Antagonist also beats the everliving crap out of his own hanger ons after they ambush the main character. He then spends the rest of the book making sure nobody lays a finger on the main character. He does not pursue any kind of action or harassment against the main character. The only fights between them happen in class and in the tournament.

A class specializing in using heavy weapons, such as axes and hammers. Heavily skewed towards offense and strength. Public Release - First Chapter: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warformed/comments/satuuo/stormweaver_ii_rough_chapter_1_public_release_the/ I would concur. Will's statement feels lightly over-warned, yes, but at the same time it feels like something that should not happen.

Iron Prince (Warformed: Stormweaver Book 1) Kindle Edition

I've met Bryce and Luke in real life a couple of times, and they're both stellar human beings with eyes of diamond and hearts of granite, so I do know them a bit and I do consider them my friends. After successfully completing the 3 assessments of the CAD assignment test, Rei is given an A-Type CAD; the rarest of 7 different CAD types. Rei and his long time friend Viv apply and are accepted into the the Galens Institute, a prestigious military academy, on Astra 3.The number 2 freshman in the school behind Aria. He and Rei don't really see eye to eye, to put it mildly. This is a sci-fi setting, and whata setting. The authors had to have put in a truly staggering amount of work into making this world feel lived-in and complete. My normal policy is to only review stuff I really, really like. Being critical of another author, even constructively critical, in public is...dicey. That "fearing the tyrant" motivation doesn't really appear to hold water at this point either. The experiment that created Rei's suit is not explained as some sort of non-replicable "a bolt of lightning hit our suit factory during a gamma ray meteor shower and your suit is the result". He was specifically told that he was going to be one of many of the sorts of experiments that are done all the time to improve all CADs generally. Maybe it will turn out to not be replicable, who knows, but we have nothing to indicate that. (It's unclear exactly what this experiment was, it seems to be represented as "is crummy starting stats with great Growth better than good starting stats with good growth", but um... yes infinite power is better than non-infinite power? If the experiment was "hey does this lead to an S Growth stat" then apparently it does!) Even if that can't be applied to existing CADs certainly subsequent CADs should be able to build off of this to have much better growth. It doesn't seem like people should be worried about Rei going space Tyrant on them, because next year they should have at least a couple more handfuls of new ubersuits. They should be upset about a future in which 4-5 years from now all of the new soldiers just completely obsolete them in every way.
