About this deal

The book reads much more like a young adult novel aimed at teenage girls (lots of good looking muscular young men falling in love with the heroine and she can't understand why yadda-yadda). Audible wants to give you the most complete selection we can and we'll keep adding series and filling in gaps as quickly as possible. Their background, style, and influences often shine through in their writing, making each book a unique experience. So yes HP has definitely "inspired" the story, but when you put those elements aside there really is no comparison.

There were apparently other verbs that were used even more (73 chuckles vs 17 smirks), but once I started noticing it it just seemed like all any of the characters were doing was smirking and it got really distracting. Yes it has ever so slight samesy situations as Harry Potter, like orphanened, magic and there’s a kind of school element I guess. This all was a perfect introduction to this world, teaching Harley and us at the same time everything we need to know. With the help of Wade and her new friends, she must figure out who the traitor is and why they're targeting her. Harley is introduced to the San Diego coven, and starts to learn how to properly channel her abilities.

And if you’re looking for easy to consume fantasy with some fun and interesting bits and are not too concerned with how it is written and originality, then this is definitely a good book to read. I happened by this review when looking for reviews about this series since I was contemplating reading it. Additionally, we occasionally include insights into the writing process, thematic elements, or how each book fits into the larger tapestry of the series.

She discovers that there is another world; a magical world which exists parallel to the human one, and there is much to learn and like about it.

Here, you'll discover not just the publication year, which is essential for understanding the context and evolution of the series, but also a succinct summary that teases the story without spoiling any surprises. Sometimes a book goes temporarily out of print - and sometimes no audio version has ever been recorded. I don’t mind some romance but I don’t read fantasy for the romance so it should at least be secondary. When a rogue 19-year-old witch is recruited to help guard an ancient magical Bestiary, mystery and danger ensue.
