About this deal

The lens wasn’t fully extended when you turned the camera on or the lens barrel was held when the image was taken so the shutter wasn’t able to fire correctly. The image is too dark because no light was able to hit the image. It is possible that the camera has not been properly turned on and, therefore, won’t take any images. Turn the camera by pressing the large button on the bottom right of the front of the camera below the camera lens. When this button is pressed, the camera lens will pop out and extend. If you’ve tried replacing the old batteries with a new set of 2 AA alkaline batteries and the camera is still blinking orange and won’t take an image after pressing the shutter, try resetting camera by removing and reinstalling the fresh batteries while the lens is extended (or the camera is turned on). If you believe main reason for you Instax Mini 9 not turning on is because the batteries are dead, you will need to replace the old batteries with 2 fresh AA Alkaline batteries. Fujifilm film Instax camera are calibrated to be used with Alkaline batteries for best exposures and results with their cameras. Another possible reason that your camera won’t take photos is because the flash is currently charging. Since the flash fires automatically with each shot, the camera won’t take a picture if the flash is not fully charged. The camera indicates that the flash is fully charged when the flash charging light is lit up and not blinking. The Batteries are Dead

The Instax Mini 11 minimum focus distance is 0.3m, which again is an improvement over the 0.35m in the Mini 9. It doesn't sound like much, but it's a big difference especially for selfies. While images are never going to be critically sharp, at least pictures using the selfie mode are more likely to be in focus than before. Just make sure you stretch your arms as far as they can go! Of course our rating reflects where the Fujfilm Instax Mini 11 is positioned, as a budget-level instant film camera. When considered in this way, you'll struggle to find a better alternative. With it's fun new bubble design, the Instax Mini 12 is a very distinctive looking, almost toy-like camera which is available in five attractively muted colours. We particularly liked the Mint Green version that we had for this test. The Instax Mini 12 is primarily designed to be used in portrait format with the built-in flash at the top.

The Instax Mini 11 is primarily designed to be used in portrait format with the built-in flash at the top. For accurate framing, the 'O' seen in the middle through the viewfinder should be positioned slightly up and right of centre to your subject. If you switch to landscape format with the flash still on top, then the 'O' should be slightly to the upper left of centre. Read this article for more about the Instax Mini 8 here . You can also find the manual for the Instax Mini 8 camera here. Normally, one of the brightness indicators will light up orange to show the flash is fully charged or to indicate which brightness mode to choose for your lighting situation. However, if all of the brightness indicators on the front of your camera blink orange at the same time, this could mean either the batteries in the camera are too low and need to be replaced, the film was not loaded correctly, or there is a paper jam inside of the camera. The easiest fix for all of these causes for having a blurry image using an Instax Mini 11, is your lens is simply dirty and/or smudged. To fix this issue use a lint-free or microfiber cloth made for glasses or camera lenses to clean the lens. Depending on how bad the issue is, you may need to also use a liquid cleaner made for glasses .

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 comes in five pastel colours; Blossom Pink, Mint Green, Clay White, Lilac Purple, and Pastel Blue. The shutter is not fast enough in low-light environment or the camera wasn’t held still while taking an imageYour image may also be overexposed on the Instax Mini 11 because you were taking images outdoor in bright sunlight. The Instax Mini 11 has automatic exposure which measures the light in the environment. Unfortunately, on the Instax Mini 11 the automatic exposure setting cannot be changed (like it can on the Instax Mini 9 ). Since the flash always fires and cannot be turned off, the camera tends to overexpose images outdoors in bright sunlight. If there is no blinking light next to the viewfinder or the brightness indicators around the lens barrel on the front of the camera do not light up after you pressed the on button on the bottom right of the front of the Instax Mini 9, then the camera is not turning on. The good news is it should be easy to fix why your Instax Mini 9 is not taking photos by following one of the suggestions below:

Designed to keep up with life, the INSTAX mini 12 is ready to go with a simple twist of the lens. Twist again and you’re in Close-up mode, perfect for selfies. Combined with the perfectly positioned selfie mirror, automatic flash control and cheery mini prints, the mini 12 is a selfie moment-grabbing extraordinaire. We also enjoyed the simpler operation afforded by the twisting lens mechanism, which makes turning the camera on, off and setting it to close-up mode more intuitive than before. If your Instax Mini 11’s flash isn’t firing, you could try resetting the microcomputer inside your camera that calculates the exposure in the camera by removing the 2 AA alkaline batteries and inserting new ones. If that doesn’t help, try removing and reinserting the batteries while the len’s of the camera is fully extended. But that’s not all the Close-up mode is good at. When activated, the adjustable viewfinder neatly pairs up with the lens, so what you see if what you get. (FYI the fancy term for this is parallax correction.) Because when you’re this close, there’s no room for error. Style-wise, there is not too much change from the Instax Mini 9. We'll leave it to you whether or not you like the style. Overall, those handling improvements in the Instax Mini 11 result in a much more reliable camera - there will be far fewer throwaway prints. Auto exposure, an exposure range more capable across a range of scenarios (thought not totally), a more useable selfie mode, it all adds up.

The paper itself has a sensitivity of ISO 800, which at a basic level is a multi-purpose paper. The sweet spot for this paper and shutter speed range combination is outdoor overcast conditions or in the shade. A second extension action of the lens barrel puts the lens into 'selfie' mode, which changes the close focus distance to 0.3m. Otherwise, the focus range is from 0.5m to infinity. You'll notice that the lens is labelled with a 60mm focal length, which in this format translates to around 35mm - that's a moderate wide angle.Once you figure out how to take images with your Instax Mini 9, see this article for tips on taking better images with your Instax Mini 9 . Constant firing flash (automatic light adjustment), recycle time: 6.5 seconds or less (when using new batteries), effective flash range: 0.3 to 2.7 m The instax film is completely white and there is no image on the film.
