Some parts of this book are really funny, but I can acknowledge that people outside of the Doc's target demographic will probably just find this to be really weird. His character and production value has always been top notch and separated himself from all other streamers. The Back-to-Back 1993–94 Blockbuster Video Game Champion, he has a powerful 6-foot-8 frame, a 37-inch vertical leap, and a wavy, gleaming mullet like black diamonds. And also because they’d finally started to guess what I already knew: that their son was meant for greatness. So here I am, one day later, sitting in my multimillion-dollar state-of-the-art top-secret complex, surrounded by twenty doggie bags of leftover riblets and nachos, writing this book.

Judging from how he’s addressed the Twitch ban so far, it’s more likely that we’ll get some answers from a potential court case than the upcoming memoir. The old me would’ve apologized and begged forgiveness, but the new me just flipped him off and stole it.For that reason I can only fairly review this book as a fan, but I'll try to point out what praise it deserves as a standalone book and what praise it gets from a fan. I think I might have preferred a real-life memoir of Doc as a person, rather than the character, but this makes more sense from an entertainment perspective. He was fortunate enough to get a response from the man himself, who described for him the right way to read his memoir.

This may have been advertised as Doc's memoirs but it is not nonfiction; it is entirely "in-character" and contains multiple origin stories of the Doc character (from different universes) as well as an ongoing storyline involving a criminal organization he fought against. Beahm’s short statement on the ban echoed what he said during his interviews with The Washington Post and PC Gamerback in July, the first time he opened up about the situation since being booted from Twitch on June 28.When I started reading this and if I would have continued reading the physical copy of this book it'd be maybe a three star read but the audio version bumped this to a high four star rating. In interviews and on his comeback stream on YouTube in early August, Beahm even claimed that he still didn’t know why he’d been expelled from the service. The rest of the mob—there must’ve been at least nine more—saw my utter, unstoppable dominance, turned tail, and ran for their lives. DisRespect is my all-time favorite streamer and it’s beyond cool to see him actually publish a book under his legendary character. I'm also very passionate about video games, and if you watch internet streamers, you probably are too!

Dr Disrespect book review: Sorry Doc, but your book sucks

Turns out I’d fallen right outside a CompuLand loading dock, and my mystical miracle machine was just part of a big new shipment. The ban came just months after Beahm signed a multi-year exclusivity deal with Twitch, locking him into the platform at a time when other popular streamers like Ninja and Shroud had been poached by Microsoft for its own Mixer streaming service, which was recently shut down. Featuring exclusive, never-before-told stories from his career and thoughtful advice on everything from growing superior mullets to thoroughly dominating life, this memoir is as unique and unforgettable as its subject.What I like to do, during these rare moments when I’m overcome by raw sentimentality, I like to kind of shake it off, you know? So it's a perfect treat for DrDisrespect fans, though I can't speak for how well it will bode for non-fans. They had rough-and-tumble names like Ramrod and One-Eyed John and Razor Frank and Steve, and they were armed with steel-plated Trapper Keepers and frozen Fruit Roll-Ups sharpened into shivs. Which was doing him a favor anyway, because the box was a gory mess and he really should’ve been selling Super Nintendos or IBMs or something.
