In this post I will review the Waterman Expert Deluxe Fountain Pen. The one which I have has a fine nib. It has a relatively slim barrel made of metal that makes it just weighty enough for comfortable handling. It measures just slightly over 10mm in width. The filling system design and the overall maintenance effort involved with the pen is same as that of any other converter based pen. The converter is the standard waterman converter which can be used across almost all their pens around this range. Since the nib is fine it does not use a lot of ink and a single top up can last a fairly long time.Regarding nibs, the medium is the most common and it delivers fairly well. It is made of stainless and remains rigid as you write which helps make your penmanship flow neatly and consistently. Speaking of the grip section, it is smooth and has no threads that would make it uncomfortable to handle the pen.

These design touches deliver a vintage appeal that is, at the same time, modern and suave. The Writing Experience The Waterman Expert is not a lightweight pen but it is also not so heavy that you will find it cumbersome to write with. In a nutshell, the Waterman Hemisphere is a more conventional and practical choice for day-to-day use as opposed to the Waterman Expert which may require a more skilled fountain pen user with refined tastes. Aesthetically speaking, this fountain pen’s barrel has a smooth finish that is well-accentuated by either chrome or gold trims; depending on your preference. Both the nib and trim near the grip section are also engraved with the Waterman trademark. The Writing Experience The construction quality is good and the pen feels solidly built. There is nothing much to complain and the pen can handle some abuse. (I have never this pen so I don't know what would happen).Even after 3 years of fairly regular use this pen is in good condition. I am happy with the construction.
