About this deal

made in France is more zesty, fresher, zingy, closer to the original L'Homme EdT, not nearly as full in the base - BUT it's projecting off the paper strip like crazy, even hours later and you'll get that slightly dirty, almoast "sweaty" patchouli note in the sillage.

I even don't know if a 2019 Puig batch would differ from my 2017 one, I haven't tried and compared both. The long answer is: L'Oreal has their own internal evaluation teams that do not involve the input of designers when choosing fragrances to develop, release, or retain when taking over from previous manufacturers. Yvonne Anekwe was named in particular in the book for being especially brutal and commercially-minded with her job of developing and maintaining fragrance portfolios. Zugeschlagen I have at the end of last year at a discount campaign and this I have almost outrageously cheap. Qualitatively, this series can easily keep up with niche fragrances. One gets a very noble fragrance qualitatively extremely high. Familiar quality of Daniela Andrier. I liked the EdT "L'Homme" right away, and it's a fixed part of my collection, even my favorite fragrances, which are worn quite often.I'm noting: A great fragrance that has a little darkness and is much more flexible than its scent relatives and shines with an outstanding durability. In a weak moment I tried the then new L'Homme Intense in the shop and bought it. Although I had such a gut feeling that it seemed to me somehow overmodulated. But I thought it would be awesome if I liked the EdT so much. JOHN: We've talked about the advantages of flankers in the perfume world. Here you think the original is more successful. What quality in the "Intense" made it go wrong? Why is L'Homme right as it is? The Prada is a clean man who is linear, but by no means boring. It is much more flexible to wear than the other two fragrances I have just mentioned. It can even be integrated into everyday working life - something I wouldn't dare do with Valentino. Here are some photos of my old 2017 made in Spain by Puig bottle which I bought 4 years ago and the new 2021 made in France by L'Oreal bottle:

JOHN: I can only really suggest L'Homme as a very basic, everyday scent that one would use to be very discrete. When I say that, it sounds like code for "office wear," and perhaps that's true. Even then, it will be very mild. L'Homme Intense, on the other hand, is bolder, as you noted, and darker. It strikes me as what you would spritz on when you're leaving the office to go out afterwards for drinks with your friends. Not really a weekend scent, but something for on the town when you want to smell well-put-together, professional, positive, and confident. MARLEN HARRISON: When I first smelled L'Homme, I thought it was a nice scent...nice enough to try it on my skin and nice enough to be curious to want to smell it again. With Intense, it wasn't quite love. I did try it on my skin but felt it just wasn't for me. What were your initial thoughts about these two scents? How do you explain your own reactions to the fragrances? Further along in the wear, we get to hit a base of sandalwood and patchouli. I really appreciate how subtle these later notes are and how they simply enhance the overall vibe of an already fantastic smelling cologne. Performance is very good. Especially the durability, which is double-digit. The sillage of the EdT I find better. This of the Intense is but also very good and sprays a noble impression. L'Homme Intense is a reinterpretation of the Eau de Toilette of the same name by Prada. The intensive version was developed by the same perfume designer who created the original fragrance: Daniela Andrier. In both compositions the main characteristic feature is the iris. Their powdery, light bouquet in the new version, however, encompasses darker, more aromatic notes. The result is a less floral, but stronger fragrance experience. The composition is almost consistently praised as stylish and mature. In addition, despite its classic charisma, it is quite independent. The perfume is suitable for middle-aged men who like to appear elegant and self-confident. In contrast to the lighter L'Homme, it is more suitable for the cooler half of the year. Easy Start with Rough Aftermath

It’s really at this time, that I am reminded of Dior Homme and Dior Homme Eau, as L’Homme Intense fits right in line with that series. However, this is stronger on the iris and doesn’t have the leather to the same extent, nor any cacao. The overlap isn’t too extreme.

And I want to mention, that when I asked at a perfumery if they have some bottles left and if they could look where they are made, the SA told me that the latest regular Prada L'Homme EdT which they've got is also made in France.MARLEN: You know, I immediately recognized L'Homme as a Prada, and when I smelled Intense I though, "Yup, totally Prada." Here I'm thinking of Infusion d'Iris, Infusion d'Homme, and the Luna Rossa line, especially. L'Homme and Intense are definitely related to the last two, but Parfum Absolue, not as much. And I agree with what you said about the dryness. Even though I mentioned that neroli and amber sweeten L'Homme, and that Intense is even sweeter, I should also add that there is a dryness here that turns me off, especially in Intense. I can appreciate Andrier's composition but for me, it goes a bit...sour? I had the same problem with Infusion D'Homme and Luna Rossa. The only Prada fragrance I wear is Luna Rossa Extreme, and sometimes I even have problems with that one due to the dryness of the pepper and the labdanum. JOHN: You’d given me Infusion d’Iris Eau de Parfum Absolue to smell, and it made a big impression. Do you think L’Homme (original or Intense) are related? How about Prada Amber? They've already launched the new Prada Luna Rossa Ocean flanker and probably are focusing more on the Luna Rossa line. When was the very first time that thing blew up my nose? Well, it was at the beginning of this year, and I was blown away...
