About this deal

The romance is pretty shallow (she's the first to be kind to him so he's devoted to her, and why wouldn't she like him), but it's nice to see two characters love and care for each other so it's not bad. Deadpan Snarker: Sylvia ia definitely the queen of snark. Zeronis and Rose show shades of this as well. When I first started reading that webtoon, I loved the artstyle & comedy, up until the last panel. I really thought she just had a one-night-stand but no, it had become more evident that she was completely drunk when the duke decided to sleep with her. And what does everyone with common sense know about sleeping while drunk? It is NOT consensual aka. the duke raped her. Humiliation Conga: Rose has it rough during the second half of the story, when her desperation to separate Ripley from Zeronis reaches an all-time high. She has Ripley kidnapped and forces her to write a breakup letter to Zeronis, only for him to see right through it and rescue Ripley. He then threatens Rose’s father into sending her to an abbey, a Fate Worse than Death for her. Finally escaping thanks to her father bribing the abbey, Rose sneaks into Zeronis’s mansion as a maid and tries to stab Ripley and Sylvia, only to set the mansion, and herself, on fire. When Ripley next finds her, she is living in delirium in the slums with burns so severe she wears a cloak at all times, and spends her days hallucinating that she is a duchess. Ripley only spares her from being executed because the original Ripley wouldn’t want her old friend to suffer (and she’s too far gone for punishment to matter). I struggled to pry my eyes open and desperately wished I had someone by my side as I searched for water.

The comments don't help here either — the first top comment that confronted this issue (ep.11) was heavily downvoted compared to comments complimenting the duke & there were people actually trying to argue that "it's not a big deal". That creator actually brainwashed those readers. Zeronis also experiences this during the last mini-arc of the story. After Wright points out that he never made a proper wedding proposal to Ripley, Zeronis becomes awkward at the mention of his wedding, something Ripley finds out of character. Digital goods, open DVDs and Blu-rays, smart art prints, mystery bundles, and final sale items are excluded from the return policy. It was definitely a question, but she didn’t seem to be expecting an answer—seeing as how she placed a bowl of water right next to the bed. It was a typical romance fantasy novel—a novel in which every scene was connected through pure coincidence, with the male lead’s hotness and the female lead’s kindness being the only things holding the story together. That kind of novel.

Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Rose is able to get away with a lot of the offenses she causes because her father is wealthy and has connections. She literally paid off the abbey she was sent to for kidnapping Ripley so she could escape and try to kill her once more. Oblivious to Love: She really doesn't comprehend Zeronis' flirtations. Usually her mind is distracted by either food or her business, much to Zeronis' chagrin. She's not too dense when it comes to other men's flirtations, however, since she could tell Prince Sharman was trying to earn her affections; though that was thanks to both Zeronis and Etoile warning her to be cautious around him. The First Night With the Duke started as a web novel written by Hwang Dotol. The manhwa adaptation by Teava and MSG began publishing on Webtoon in in English on July 7th, 2020, and concluded its original run on April 10th, 2022. A side story published soon after on April 24th, 2022, and concluded on August 9th, 2022. The manhwa's upcoming print edition will be released in English by NETCOMICS on August 15th, 2023. His blond hair looked like someone had intentionally styled it to look sexy, in a very “I just woke up” kind of way. He also had the kindest blue eyes—ones you wouldn’t expect from a one-night stand. Alpha Bitch: She’s a prominent member of high society, and had loads of connections and resources thanks to her wealthy father. She asks cordial to most high-ranked people in public, but will become insanely jealous towards anyone aiming for Zeronis, like Ripley.

What Did I Do Last Night?: The plot begins with Ripley waking up in Duke Zeronis' bedroom, having no recollection of what happened the night before at Etoile's birthday party, only that she possibly slept with the Duke. She learns bits and pieces of what happened over the course of the story. Daughter of Count Jenkinson, she is an arrogant noblewoman with an unrequited love for Zeronis. She was originally friends with Ripley before the protagonist enters her body, but after Ripley meets Zeronis, she becomes jealous and starts antagonizing Ripley. I was relieved when a glass of water appeared in front of my eyes. It seemed I wasn’t alone after all. I tried to sit up, and someone held my arm and politely supported me. It was probably Sylvia—the so-called maid I’d met yesterday. I couldn’t help but stare at the heroine I had so enthusiastically rooted for. Just like it said in the novel, her gleaming blond hair and kind blue eyes were the first things I noticed. A shy smile lit up her pretty face. There are dozens of webtoons that portray crimes, abuse etc. for the sake of the plot but not a SINGLE ONE has romanticised it to this extent. The bright colors, the protag's inner "admiration"& side characters pitting them together? What the actual hell?? In other webtoons with crime portrayal you can at least tell that it's wrong e.g. through an inner voice or side characters confronting them (e.g. "Not Even Bones" while both of the protags were doing awful things, they still showed signs of regret — or even when they didn't, it was still evident that it was wrong)
