About this deal

There weren't any major particular details BUT it does mention (superficially) physical, sexual and substance abuse, and BDSM and sadism too but not between Lucian and Isadora (MCs). I had the feeling that in the first 50% this book was more about Lucien and Isadora is just the background In his story because there were so many chapters from his younger years.

I found Isa to be a dull in the beginning but I guess that is because she is an average person with average traits and nothing more to her. Keri is an amazing story teller and I will definitely be recommending this to my friends and to all who read this review. That’s right, this author managed to make the male lead into such an enigma that I spent 3/4 of this voraciously consuming his backstory and still I want more.

Em uma atmosfera sensual e sombria, segredos são descobertos, mentiras contadas e dúvidas surgem sobre o que é real e o que foi imaginado. I did struggle a little with the length especially when I felt a certain aspect of the book needed more rationale. But as I read on there we’re hidden qualities that were exposed throughout, showing she held passion for a lot of things as well as heroism and bravery.

Everything she should despise in a person, but there is also something else that she can see, that no-one else can. I liked them as a couple and there's so much darkness surrounding them that I guess their darkness became their beauty. Somehow Isa manages to break down the Mad Son bare and together they become a force to be reckoned with. Each chapter, full of riddles and mystery kept me on my toes till the very until each unanswered question I had was fulfilled.

If you love the dark, the forbidden, the complex, the twisted yet beautiful dance with danger in the shadows, then this book IS FOR YOU! In fact, I set out to rate it that way, but then remembered that at some point, I skimmed some parts (mostly inner monologue that was just too descriptive at times). Living in a small sea side community known by its superstitions resides 'Blackthorne Manor' a modern day castle which overlooks the township otherwise known as Bonesalt due its white clay and sand that covers the exterior of the castle. Aos poucos as camadas de cada um deles vão sendo reveladas e teremos o Pov do Lucian no presente e passado para conhecer esse personagem fascinante e complexo. The main female character is this outcast who is described as an exotic raven beauty with a tattoo that says "invulnerable" on her arm. When he hires a young beauty to be his mother’s companion and live at the house, Lucian has no clue that this woman is going to work her way into the organ that he thought was once rotten and black. But little did she know that she would uncover secrets not only her own but the Blackthorns themselves, getting caught between the arms of the cursed man himself who is like the ghost story that kids tell eachother.

So I very much enjoyed this book overall, it's dark and chilling with some serious gothic horror vibes. Two broken, secluded, distinguished MCs and their extremely emotional, tragic, heart breaking, angsty, pant melting story!

This thing perturbed me a bit since bringing an age gap on top of all the twisted things seemed too much. Magical, all encompassing, enthralling, with a dark undercurrent and a romance that's literally to die for, this book was everything!
