About this deal

To find the best toddler travel beds, we tested 20 toddler travel beds in the Verywell Testing Lab and in our own homes. We also spoke with Anjuli Gans, MD, a pediatrician at Karabots Pediatric Care Center, West Philadelphia, and Lynelle Schneeberg, PsyD, a pediatric sleep psychologist and author. When little ones are old enough to no longer need a portable crib on vacation, but you still worry about them rolling off the bed while they’re asleep, it’s time to recruit the help of an air mattress with bumpers. The Shrunks Toddler Travel Bedwas designed to be a just-right option for toddlers ready to graduate out of a travel crib. The fold and go functionality of this children’s fold out bed make it super easy to put out and to fold away again. It can also be used folded over as a lounge cushion. This mattress was created with heavy-duty PVC material with welded seams for added stability, durability and long-lasting use. The horizontal channel construction was designed to prevent sagging and provide extra support for your child.

Price. Though this isn’t the cheapest option on our list, it lands somewhere in the mid-range. In our opinion, the features and durability are well worth the cost Folding cots. Foldable travel beds offer one of the easiest setups (no inflation necessary) and are commonly used in childcare settings for naps. They keep your little one off the ground while sleeping, but they typically don’t have any side protection (which may not work for all sleepers). A camping trip in the great outdoors is a wonderful way to unwind, spend time with loved ones and switch off from the daily hustle of life for a bit. To make sure you’re getting proper sleep every night even during campouts, air beds are a great choice. They’re easy to pop in and out of tents and can be inflated and deflated with ease. From single air beds for compact spaces to double air beds for more spacious areas, you'll find lots of sizes and designs from all the top brands. These bed rails are a perfect choice if your toddler sleeps in bed with you when traveling. They are also a great option for saving space since they take up little room. Traveling with toddlers isn't easy, especially if their schedules are disrupted and they don't get enough sleep. But you can still have a wonderful time exploring new places with your family—you just need to be prepared. Toddler travel beds provide consistency and a protected sleep space, resulting in a well-rested child and a smoother trip for everyone. To help narrow your selection, we tried out 20 beds in the Verywell Testing Lab and our homes to find the best toddler travel beds available. This cot was created for portability and could be a great option for naps, travel, camping, or sleepovers. You may even use it for extra seating space at a sports event or take it to the beach! One of our favourite features of this kids air bed is that can be inflated in just 30 seconds with the included electric pump. The BabyBjörn Travel Crib is perfect for sleepovers and for bringing along for long journeys. It folds up in a travel bag making it easy to throw in your bag for overseas travel too. This portable travel crib is suitable for children aged 0 to 3 years and can be set up and folded up in just one move. Added features include a soft and comfy mattress, airy mesh fabric so baby can have the circulate around the cot and easy for you to keep a watchful eye. It is pricier than other sleep devices such as the Plane Pal and Fly Tot but cheaper than than Stokke JetKids Bed Box.The Flyaway comes in a convenient travel pouch with its own small pump and easily fits into your carry on luggage. Inflatable. The most common type are inflatable toddler beds, which resemble air mattresses. These are a popular choice because of their easy portability (since they can be deflated when not in use) and comfort—but they often require a pump to inflate, which may or may not be included. Additionally, children 15 months of age or younger should never sleep on an inflatable mattress, per the CPSC.

However, at a good 6 inches wider than the Shrunks inflatable toddler bed above, the Intex toddler air mattress is not ideal if you want to squeeze into a small hotel room, or if you have two portable baby beds to fit in.The main disadvantage is that it is less stable than a toddler travel mattress that sits on the floor so may not be as good for young toddlers not used to being in a bed yet. Although it doesn’t have built in bed guards, the weight of the child should cause the centre to sag enough that rolling out of bed is prevented. Why not explore our range of all-in-one air beds which feature an air mattress, a pillow and a sleeping bag? You'll still need to make sure you've brought an air pump. Go for a foot pump or an ultra-efficient electric air pump, the choice is yours. And if you're looking for separate sleeping bags, then we’ve got a great variety of those too. Let’s take a look at each type of bed in detail and why one would be a good option over the other. Inflatable Toddler Bed

The Shrunks toddler bed can be used with standard crib sheets, but we love all their little accessories, including the Shrunks sleeping bag, waterproof pillow, waterproof sheet, cotton blanket, and especially the Shrunks play tent, which attaches to the bed and would be great fun for little kids. A kids folding bed is usually easier to put up, as often it just means you need to unfold it. Sometimes they do require a bit more effort though, especially the kids camping bed style, which may require some construction (an exception to this is the Regalo MyCot Portable Travel bed below, which is super easy to put up). Inflatable travel beds are a great option for airplane travel or when space is an issue. A toddler air mattress can be easily pumped up when needed and deflated to a small size to be stored when not in use. At a sizeable 60 x 37 x 9 inches when fully inflated, the Shrunks travel bed deflates down to a compact 16 x 7 inches and comes with its own drawstring bag. This makes it an ideal children’s air bed for both air travel and car travel.
