Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Mental Health and Wellbeing Coaching from Kingstown College. This award can be used to satisfy the education requirement for a coaching credential/accreditation with EMCC (Practitioner Level) at 160 training hours.

EMDR helps the symptoms of PTSD. You will make eye movements while thinking about the traumatic event. In 2019 Oscar was granted a fellowship by the Churchill Foundation to study mental health providers in the USA and Australia who had adopted Zero Suicide approaches to patient care. Oscar established and chaired the Towards Zero Suicide Collaborative Board for Northern Ireland from 2018 - 2022. Kingstown College and MindWise have partnered in the production of the first ever Mental Health and Wellbeing Coaching qualification accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. Combining 20+ years of coaching experience at Kingstown College, and 40+ years of mental health expertise from MindWise, this course provides helpful models and tools to work in this important specialisation. Accreditation Oscar held the position of Director of Mental Health and Disability Services in the NHSCT from April 2007 until June 2020. Prior to this, he was appointed Director of Mental Health Services in the legacy Homefirst Community Trust in 2004, having previously worked in Learning Disability Services in the legacy North and West Belfast Community Trust. Committed to life-long learning and reflective practice she holds a number of health care leadership and management qualifications including but not least a MBA, Life, Executive, Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach and Coach Supervisor and is currently studying towards a Masters in Trauma Studies. She has been instrumental in integrating Coaching into health care practice across disciplines and at all levels and more recently was awarded a Coaching Hero Award by the Minister for Health Republic of Ireland. Anne has also recently been nominated and shortlisted for CO3’s Leading on Organisational Change Award.

The Programme

This course is designed to give learners a solid foundation in the models, competencies and ethics of coaching, together with the specific tools which are effective in coaching themes related to mental health and wellbeing. Competencies and Ethics Our vision, mission and values underpin everything that we do in supporting people affected by severe mental illness and other mental health difficulties. We support all our staff and volunteers to live our values everyday. We are empathetic, we listen and learn, we continuously improve everything we do and we support you when you need it. This course is assessed in line with the competencies of the accrediting organisations (ICF and EMCC). Therefore, traditional percentage grading is replaced by an Achieved/Not Achieved assessment on the competencies. You may:While this course content is relevant for any coach or leader, we see many learners coming from roles in healthcare, social care and therapies. With the added emphasis on wellbeing and mental health in organisations, we now also see leaders and executive coaches also adding to their skillset in this space. We are passionate about mental health and wellbeing and we are committed to challenging mental health stigma and discrimination. We pride ourselves on developing new and innovative ways to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. Anne believes the key to success is the partnerships she has formed with the people she works for and with – most importantly the working relationships formed with those directly affected by mental health needs. A core part of our programme also works with teachers to build the foundational knowledge to do what they do best: securing the best outcomes for their students. Over an 8-week period, Bloom Associate Trainers work alongside teachers to support and train them in the course content and the application of our easy-to-use teaching resources.

He led a number of co-production groups in the development of policy advice, to inform the Northern Ireland Mental Health Strategy, 2021- 2031. Symptoms can appear hours, days or even months after a traumatic event. For a lot of people, these symptoms become less severe as they come to terms with what has happened. When these symptoms do not go away, there is a possibility you might have PTSD. That's our mission and it drives everything we do. For many years I worked in the areas of learning disability, physical disability and mental health policy. I was privileged to be invited to join an international team of experts to advise the authorities in the Czech Republic on disability policy, particularly social inclusion, prior to it joining the EU in 2004. Latterly I was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the recommendations of the Bamford Review of Mental Health and Learning Disability. I also led on the introduction of talking therapies. In addition I worked with Health and Social Care Trusts to provide modern psychiatric facilities for those who need inpatient care. Not everyone who experiences these things develops PTSD. The risk of getting PTSD depends on how the experience affects you. PTSD is more likely if the traumatic event: There are no academic entry requirements for this course, but previous experience in coaching, mental health or wellbeing interventions will be helpful. Learners are expected to have a positive attitude for learning, collaborating with others and self development.
