Acute radiodermatitis is defined by skin lesions that appear within 90 days of radiotherapy. During the first week of radiotherapy, acute radiodermatitis (Grade 1) may cause mild and transient redness on the skin (erythema). By the second week, dryness and peeling (desquamation) may occur due to dehydration in Grade 2.
