We are reviewing the 55-inch version of the Hisense U8HQ but it shares roughly the same panel and features as the 65- and 75-inch versions, so image quality shouldn’t be that different across the screen sizes, but there will be panel variance to take account of. Colors fade slightly when you view the TV from an off-angle, but not to a significant degree. When you entertain a group of people, everyone should be able to see the screen just fine regardless of where they sit. The U8H doesn't offer the perfect off-angle color retention of TVs like the LG C2, but it’s far better than more budget models.

With 4K Blu-ray content the Hisense stretches its legs. It doesn’t have a native 10-bit panel commonly used for HDR, instead employing 8-bit + FRC– a form of dithering that cycles between different colours with each new frame to match the colour range of a 10-bit panel – and results are pretty good. ARRAffinity cookie is set by Azure app service, and allows the service to choose the right instance established by a user to deliver subsequent requests made by that user. As of 2021, Hisense introduced gaming features like HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and variable refresh rate support to some higher-end TVs. Now, their higher-end TVs support up to 4k @ 144Hz, and even their cheaper models have advanced gaming features, such as VRR. BBC’s Planet Earth II looks excellent on the U8H. The picture is bright and colorful. The TV shows well-saturated and natural greens and blues for plants and water, respectively. Fine details like fur and bark come through clearly both under direct sunlight and in shade.

Lineup

If you are looking for an everyday living room workhorse that has good gaming performance, nice design and decent SDR and HDR viewing in a bright, normal living room, then the Hisense U8QF is a compelling proposition.

If a device isn't certified, it won't be listed below. Devices not listed have either not reached the benchmark required for a good BBC iPlayer experience or have not yet been submitted for certification. We only support devices which are certified so you may experience issues with BBC iPlayer on uncertified devices. While Hisense doesn’t specifically pitch the U8H as a gaming TV, its 4K/120Hz, VRR, and ALLM support, along with FreeSync Premium Pro, make it one of the better set options for gaming, particularly in its price class. Aside from a Game picture mode, there’s not much in the way of related menu adjustments, though there is an HDR picture mode for gaming. To the extent permitted by law, this EULA shall be governed by the laws of the Germany and by accepting this EULA, and by your use of the Smart Services, you are agreeing that such EULA and all other aspects of the Smart Services will be construed in all respects in accordance with the laws of the Germany, and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dusseldorf, Germany. The red of Deadpool’s costume in the overcast opening scenes of Deadpool is vibrant and balanced; it doesn't appear faded or purplish at all. The yellows and oranges of the flames in the burning lab fight scene are bright and vibrant, with nicely varied highlights against fairly dark, though not inky, shadow details. You understand and agree that the Smart Services may include advertisements, certain communications from us or third parties such as update announcements, administrative messages, newsletters and other materials (“Communications”). As those Communications are part of the Smart Services, you may not opt out of receiving them. Certain Materials may not be suitable for minors or other users. Such Materials may not be rated or identified as being unsuitable. There’s a lot to say about U8H series, but the key takeaway is that Hisense provides great value here. While it doesn’t offer the same level of perfection as top OLED TVs, it bests them in terms of peak brightness, and the overall picture quality is great for the price. Add to that a fully loaded feature set, and the U8H is a TV option well worth consideration. Hisense U8H review: price and release date
