Height Adjustable Headrest - The height-adjustable headrest has 12 settings for a customised fit. As your child grows it is simple to adapt the seat to keep pace. The Sirona Z cannot be used without a car seat base, unlike the Cloud Z car seat which can be fitted with a seat belt (although this means it’s not i-size compliant). i-Size includes a side impact test to ensure that the seats provide better protection from side impacts. Additionally, when the Cloud Z car seat is combined with the Cybex Z base, it can be rotated towards the car door for ease of fitting and securing your baby in the car. It includes an innovative rotating function, not only for the second stage seat but for the infant carrier too. This is a huge breakthrough in the infant car seat industry, as it offers parents the best of both worlds. Being able to detach your baby’s seat combined with the convenience of a rotating base for easy installation in and out of the car is hugely beneficial and a key reason why Cloud Z car seat bases are so popular.

Similarly to Cloud Z, the Cybex Sirona Z2 comes under the R129 i-Size regulation, so is also tested to the latest standards and features the Linear Side-impact Protection System. UK law dictates that all children must travel in an appropriately sized car seat until they are 135cm tall or 12-years-old, whichever comes first. As safety features are obviously the most important feature of any car seat, these car seats have plenty. A difference in the two seats is that the SX2 has Advanced Linear Side-impact Protection that needs popping out on the car door side. In combination with the energy-absorbing shell, it can reduce the force of a side impact collision by 25%! The energy-absorbing shell is designed to flex with an impact and channel the forces away from baby too. Choosing your baby’s first car seat can feel quite daunting. There’s so much information to take in and absorb and, because your little one’s safety is your number one priority, you want to feel confident you’re making the right choice. The Sirona Z is both rearward facing and forward facing but as it is an i-Size car seat, your baby must stay rearward facing until at least 15 months of age. In reality, this means it will not allow the seat to fully rotate forward until the harness is set to a minimum of 76cm (the approx height of a 15-month-old).

Patented reclining headrest – The 3 position reclining headrest helps prevent the child’s head from falling forward while asleep. The 25kg seats take up way less space than the spinning seats, they are huge. Which Axkid seat do you have, and were you fitting it in compact position or extended leg room (and/or recline)? The 5 point harness is nicer to use on the Cybex than the Joie and it doesn't have so many confusing inserts. The Joie seats are also notorious for having very little leg room for the child rear facing (that's how they save space).

While the Cybex Sirona Z is suitable for use from birth it cannot be connected to any pushchair chassis, meaning it’s not suitable as a travel system. This removes the convenience of being able to transfer your baby from car to pushchair frame without waking or disturbing him.
