About this deal

This was trying to be inspirational and a self help book, but all of the platitudes were cheesy and surface level, and nothing about the book made me feel like she was especially wise or someone to take advice from. This isn’t going to win any awards, but it was an interesting read, I definitely left it having learned more about Mrs Hinch than I did prior to reading this. I know she has trolls and the bit in the book about them giving her anxiety upsets me. Why can’t people be nice?! I will tell you why....it’s jealousy! They are jealous that someone as beautiful and down to earth as her is a huge success. We all have our individual likes and dislikes, enjoy different activities and have the ability to shine in our own ways. We each have a unique set of ingredients that make us – well, us. I have binge watched every This Is Us episode there is. There is something special about that series, and there is something special about this book as well. Listening to Metz share her life story was informative and touching. Did you know she is from Gainesville, Florida? I had no idea she lived so close to me! I also didn’t know that she married (and later divorced) a man she met online, or that her stepfather verbally and physically abused her. It’s because of her life challenges, and difficulties that she is able to deliver a compelling book that is the story of how Chrissy Metz grew up and ultimately became Kate Pearson. Her tips on self-confidence and self-esteem are nice, like icing on a cake. She reminds us to be appreciative of who we are, find our gifts, and pursue our dreams. Only a strong, courageous and loving woman can be so positive given her past experiences. Chrissy Metz is amazing!

Many children will recognise the star of this book as CBeebies presenter George Webster, transformed into a delightful picture book character by illustrator Tim Budgen. Inspired by a poem, and joining forces with co-author Claire Taylor, this book shares George's wisdom and zest for life in a celebration of diversity, friendship and being yourself.Mae gan bob un ohonon ni ein hoff bethau a'n cas bethau, a'r gallu i serennu yn ein ffyrdd arbennig ein hunain. Mae gan bawb gasgliad o gynhwysion unigryw sy'n ein gwneud ni yn ni. With chapters like Anxiety, Motherhood, and Body Talk, I think this book will reach out to many more than just those who love to clean their homes. There is so much more to Sophie Hinchliffe than fluffy dusters and Zoflora!! In the book she explains that it isn’t about getting taller, skinnier, richer, or more successful. It’s about loving yourself and realizing that we are all great, as we are. How many other successful influencers can say they still do their family shop in Morrison’s, buy their baby’s clothes from Tesco, and many of their own clothes come from High Street stores? Mrs Hinch is so relatable to many and this new book simply proves why. Author Chrissy Metz is best known for her role as Kate Pearson in the television series This is Us. Audiences relate to her character’s honesty and difficulties. Her performance in the show has earned her two Golden Globe award nominations and an Emmy nominations for best supporting actress. This Is Me: loving the person you are today is her interesting and inspiring life story, part memoir and part self-help.

As a postgrad student of English, I have a contempt for books like these that see people with no talent making huge sales while people who have amazing potential struggle to get published and find enough money to eat. I think this will always sadden me. With bright and engaging illustrations alongside a genuine and heartfelt story, This is Me is the perfect picture book for any child. So, get ready to read all about George, a little boy with the biggest heart! I haven’t read any of the other books Mrs Hinch has released, the one where you can write your hinching lists bothers me if I’m honest. Why i hear you ask? Writing and highlighting in a book is a no go for me. I love a list, don’t get me wrong, but you will only find me writing on my ‘to do pad’ I couldn’t bring myself do write in the actual beautiful book😂 (unless its a text book, that’s a whole different story!) To allow us readers into her life on a much more personal level than just what she posts on her account, has undoubtedly taken incredible courage. (Even more so after reading about the evil trolling and abuse she suffers!) This book is her laying herself bare for all. Yet throughout it all still promoting positivity and sincere gratitude to her followers. I could relate to Chrissy in a lot of aspects in this book, her advice is stuff we've all heard before, but her examples of how she applied it to her own circumstances, made the book more relateable to me.This has not become a review of this specific book at this point, really. I could be talking about any other 'influencer' who has written a book, or ghost written a book *coughZoellacough*. Book Summary: This book promotes thinking about who we really are and where were from. If you had to leave with just a suite case the next day, what would you bring and why?

I found Chrissy Metz to be inspiring before I read her memoir. Now, I feel like she's a literal hero for anyone who simply wants to live life as they are and not accept anyone else's standards for what beautiful, strong and successful is. And she manages to be kind and humble while doing it. Honeybees are meaningful to me because technically they're not supposed to be able to fly. We know they do, but in the 1930s French scientists 'proved' they couldn't. Their reasoning was that it was aerodynamically impossible because honeybees' wings are too small to support the weight of their bodies. ... I get that. I'm not supposed to be able to fly either." pg 6, ebook A lot of these books written by influencers and YouTubers are notoriously written by ghostwriters but I have to give credit to Mrs Hinch because as far as I can tell, these are her words. It’s written in a very informal, conversational, chatty manner, exactly the way she speaks in her stories which is great. I really liked the first chapter, but it went downhill from there. There was a weird amount of humble bragging/regular bragging? And I found her to be a likely unreliable narrator. I also thought that the "Mindfulness" parts of the book could have been included in an entirely different book. I wish this book was simply her memoir and not self-help. I imagined the Mindfulness as a small companion book with these same suggestions and examples. All of our eSongbooks are supplied with a single user licence which allows the Words on Screen™ software to be installed on ONE computer only, or be streamed by a single user. Chrissy Metz stars on the NBC hit show, This is US as Kate Pearson, one of the triplets. If you have never seen this show, you don't need to have, to read this book, but I think you might afterwards. This book chronicles her life from when she was a young child to her life today after making it on such a great show. It goes through her struggles with her weight and being accepted by family as well as outsiders. And her main focus is being happy with the person she is no matter her size or job.
