Filling and sealing the cap takes some getting used to, but it quickly becomes easy after a few practices. Credit subject to status, UK residents only, Euro Car Parts Limited acts as a broker and offers finance from PayPal Credit. Filling up with a hose is easy, but if you don't have access to one, it can be opened on top and filled by hand, then pressurized with an air pump. The tanks we recommend (see “Water Tank Links” table above) have 1/2″ NPT female vent ports (so a 1/2″ NPT male fitting is required). We only take the precaution of winterizing the bike wash / shower at the back of the van; this area can freeze occasionally (it’s far from any heat source), so we avoid taking any risk and drain it.

The most obvious test we performed was measuring and weighing every shower to see how they compare while empty. Whether you’re on the go, at a remote dispersed campsite in the middle of nowhere, or chilling in the beach parking lot after a morning surf sesh, a portable camping shower can be your best friend and get you clean with little effort. The WaterPort Weekender is another great option, akin to having a coiled garden hose coming off the roof of your car. We also re-plumbed our system using PEX tubing instead of braided vinyl tubing (because that’s the proper way to do it).
We also tested the optional FlexHead attachment for this unit which turns it into an efficient car-side shower. It's not only cars that can benefit from foot pumps - you can use them away from your vehicle on a whole range of items - from inflatable swimming accessories to various sports balls. Both methods give equally good results, except a GO/NO-GO gauge has to be used for crimping to ensure the crimp ring was sufficiently deformed. Of course, having the tank inside occupies precious space in the garage, but that’s a compromise we are happy to make.

The four adaptors are supplied in a Velcro bag and a rear locking bar kept the pump safely closed for storage. Tyres will frequently only need a few psi to bring them back to the ideal pressure, so it’s no great physical effort.
The 102cm hose was by far the longest we tried and was fitted, like most pumps here, with an aluminium/plastic thumb lock. It costs just 40p more, and its foot plate is exactly the same size, although it’s covered in rubber for extra grip, which was handy in wet conditions.
