About this deal

Since 2009, the names of planets from the Dune novels have been adopted for the real-life nomenclature of plains and other features on Saturn's moon Titan. The threat of Atomics looms between factions, held in check only by thin agreements which may be broken on a whim should the direction of the political wind change.

His other novels include Sidney’s Comet (1983), Sudanna, Sudanna (1986), Man of Two Worlds (1986, co-authored with Frank Herbert), The Race for God (1990), and Ocean (2013), which he co-authored with his wife, Jan Herbert. When I read Dune in 1992 as a 16-year-old, it was not Clarke or Asimov that came to mind, but instead Tolkien. but the story line is not the same fast paced action and eventual results you hope for for the main character Paul. One of the most famous novels in the history of science fiction, Dune remains as popular today as it ever was. Charmed Life arrives in an explosion of magic in this edition illustrated by Alison Bryant and introduced by Katherine Rundell. With almost limitless power and foresight, Leto seeks to safeguard humanity's future, but his rule is marked by enigmatic decisions and sacrifices. Having now just read Dune again 40 years later immediately followed by Dune Messiah I now get it, it can't be the same as Dune as it wouldn't work as a book.

To be honest I'm not sure if publishers have classic novels reproofed for anniversary editions and reprints but I kind of feel this print of a novel is by far the worst I've ever seen on both the design and literary front. After all, if I’m too caught up in the everyday to start changing some of my short-sighted habits, the fault is mine entirely.Stefen's Books - In 2015 Hodder released a 50th anniversary paperback edition of Dune with what I thought was a pretty cool cover. It is the first installment of the Dune saga; in 2003, it was cited as the world's best-selling science fiction novel. The first adventure in the Folio Society editions of ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ series, Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood features Jonathan Burton’s enchanting illustrations and a new introduction by Michael Morpurgo.
