About this deal

It started well, and the author shared her traumatic experience with her parents. She has been through a lot since childhood, and I admire that she overcame all those things and became more alive and healthy. OMG, this was even better than I had hoped. What I had expected (given the cover): lots of gorgeous space photography as we travel our universe. Instead we travel the universe with a sweet girl, her dog, and absolutely stunning illustrations! What I think I like the most about the Bluey books is the way their messages aren’t necessarily subtle, but they are never preachy or judgmental in tone. The narratives are gentle, fun-loving and warm. Promoting good old-fashioned family fun, in a modern environment. Some takeaways are that West has long been tuned in to tons of artists, designers, etc. To have it documented here, just further proves that West is always an artist ahead of his time, using Daft Punk, having Pharrell (in N.E.R.D.) and in the moment having Rhianna (going third, right before Kanye) on tour, not to mention having Spike Jonze involved. (Lupe Fiasco opened.) He is a man with reverence for talent. He is a man who likes to be heavily involved in the conception and design of things he attaches his name to, including this tour. In terms of the narrative, Bluey: Fruit Bat is a sweet tale about the power of one’s imagination. About families, dreams, responsibilities and possibilities. It’s a fun, quirky, and imaginative tale about what it would be like if Bluey didn’t have to go to bed a night and instead, she was a fruit bat. Full of adventure and endless possibility its a feel good story that is sure to enthrall.

The tour's plot was Kanye crashing onto a planet and exploring it, during which he even encounters a monster built by Jim Henson's workshop. The methods in this book will get you out of the shadows and help you raise your profile by becoming the spotlight in your industry. Most people are afraid of what others might think or say if they showed up as their true authentic selves. Especially in a business or professional context. That’s why too many of us are terrified of sharing our story authentically in public and struggle to make a lasting impact when introducing ourselves. The elaboration of her experience before getting to the main point was so long. It could be cut off a lot with good editing. The book's format is also not my liking for a self-help book. I'm glad photo evidence exists of this tour, mostly because I did not catch it. Hearing Kanye West and Spike Jonez talk about, I get some sense of it, while a great deal is left the imagination. I found it most valuable to read the book and then talk to a friend who had been able to catch the tour. Even still, the book itself is no great work. Now everything I say, they feel like it's because I've grown crazy because of the situations I've been through - my mom passing other relationships that I got out of. It's not that I've gone crazy semi; I just don't feel like I have anything to lose, so I might as well express exactly what I feel." Overall, this book is a miss for me. However, I truly believe I am not the right person for this book, and I hope it will reach the correct audience widely. In her books, Tara uses a memoir style to show her readers her own vulnerability and imperfections. She states several times throughout the book that she is not an expert but cites the research she has done, credits the experts that she has found help her, and even encourages the reader to read those experts’ books. With showing her imperfections, she make it easier to relate to her readers and shows that she is still working towards making herself better every day. But listen. It's all part of being your best you. And, truly, it's all going to come out at some point, so you might as well manage this shit.

If you're not dealing with the thing you know you need to deal with, it's dealing with you. And it's likely that the people around dealing with it too.” During the story, Bluey stumbles upon her father laying on the floor. Her mom tells her that Bandit is dreaming about playing touch football like he used to before the kids were born and having to invest a lot of time into them during the vital stages of development. After watching her father for a moment, Bluey has an epiphany of being able to dream about being a fruit bat while she's asleep--meaning she can get what she wants and her parents can get her to sleep as well.It was inspiring when the author approached the serious healing topics in a funny and lighthearted way, but I felt that the author was trying so hard to be funny in some parts, and I could not bring myself to like it. All in all, I would highly recommend this fun, delightful, and did I mention stunningly gorgeous book to everyone. But what if you could make a connection instantly, effortlessly engaging your audience every time you introduced yourself and the work that you do, be it on stage, at work or on a podcast? And more importantly, what if you could get people to care about and pay attention to what you had to say, share or sell? I say theories because that's really what much of our current knowledge of space is. The age of the sun, how the planets were created, etc...we really do not know. But, if one's beliefs don't hold to "billions of years" don't let that stop you from enjoying this book alongside your students or child. Discussing various current ideas within science is exactly what growing minds need! There's no telling what may be learned within the scientific community during their lifetime. Feed the child's mind and curiosities now to broaden their opportunities later.

The chapters I like the most are “Make Decisions for Future You” and “The Best Way to Build a Habit”. There are many takeaways/quotes that I found valuable, and the author also helped me to understand that all of our feelings are valid. Each planet (or belt) has a short story and all sorts of fun facts spread around the illustrations. Some facts were a bit hard to read, but generally they were easily readable (sometimes they were in a box). From helping you land bigger media opportunities, generate more leads for your business or attract top talent, Glow in the Dark is a refreshingly practical and thought provoking book on why everyone has a powerful story worth telling, and how owning and sharing your story can have a transformative impact on your life and business beyond your wildest imagination.

Tara brings acceptance, compassion, joy, and sometimes even laughter to some of the most difficult subjects of life. I love the way that she speaks to her reader as if you are her best friend and she is sitting in the room with you, holding your hand and helping you cope with whatever it is you may be going through. What I did think was a shame was that they clumped Earth and Moon together. I kind of get why they did it, as the girl came from Earth. But I would have liked to see her take a pit stop in between her journey and tell us about Earth. Or maybe end it with Earth? Though that would be kind of weird as we go from Sun to Kuiper Belt, but I guess in the end would make sense.
