About this deal

Chopra is a bullshit merchant and nothing of his own theories stands up to any scientific investigation. That isn't bias it's simply objective analysis. As mentioned at the beginning, it is a very small percentage of people that is capable of dipping deep into the core of the mind-body system. It takes time to train your brain to drop old habits and gain new ones. Therefore, Deepak Chopra encourages a fusion of conventional and traditional medicines.

How advanced the cancer is seems not to matter, either. Both tiny tumors and extremely large masses of malignancy can disappear, virtually overnight.” Beginning with the title; the use of the word "quantum" in this context makes no grammatical sense. "Quantised healing" might make some sense (redundant but at least logical) or perhaps "quantum mechanical physiology" (which is actually what I thought the book was going to be about, for example the influence of electron spins on the formation of synaptic connections. You know, neuroscience - not nonsense). But "quantum healing" just suggests Chopra hasn't a notion what the suffix "quantum-" nor the word "quantum" actually mean. Ayurveda means “the knowledge for long life” in Sanskrit. Because it combines science and philosophy / spirituality, the approach is holistic. Chopra insists that the universe is not a force that surrounds us. Not only is there a whole universe within our cellular body, but we are part of the universe, we are the universe. By accepting this fusion —more, embracing it— chances are we will be able to face disease, fight it, and eventually destroy it. Such is the premise of Quantum Healing.Alexander Dunlop. Another quote: "How does a thought defeat a cancer cell?" Indeed Deepak, how does it? At no point in the book does he answer this question with anything more than a stream of pseudoscientific buzzwords. No tests, no measurements, no trials. Just the word "quantum" again and again and again... Chopra’s medical training is in internal medicine and endocrinology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Chopra serves as Co-Founder and Chairman of The Chopra Center for Wellbeing, Founder of The Chopra Well on YouTube, Adjunct Professor of Executive Programs at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School, Columbia University, Assistant Clinical Professor, in the Family and Preventive Medicine Department at the University of California, San Diego, Health Sciences, Faculty at Walt Disney Imagineering, and Senior Scientist with The Gallup Organization. Physicist and science communicator Brian Cox argues that misuse of the word "quantum", such as its use in the phrase quantum healing, has a negative effect on society as it undermines genuine science and discourages people from engaging with conventional medicine. He states that "for some scientists, the unfortunate distortion and misappropriation of scientific ideas that often accompanies their integration into popular culture is an unacceptable price to pay." Here is an extraordinary new approach to healing by an extraordinary physician-writer — a book filled with the mystery, wonder, and hope of people who have experienced seemingly miraculous recoveries from cancer and other serious illnesses. Deepak Chopra, MD serves as the Founder and Chairman of The Chopra Foundation, and Co-Founder of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing. Chopra includes numerous case studies of patients who were diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 2 months to live, and yet were completely cured after pursuing alternative therapies such as Transcendental Meditation. Admittedly, this was encouraging to me. I figure that if someone can help their body get rid of aggressive lung or brain cancer, I could certainly help my body get rid of plantar fasciitis! It is empowering to consider that the key to our individual health lies within us, and is very much under our control, should we choose to learn how to control it.Though all too familiar in the physical world, Alzheimer’s, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and heart disease do not exist at the fundamental level of quantum reality. By harnessing the power of the quantum body, we can significantly improve our physical and mental well-being, including supporting healthy cell, tissue, and organ function, boosting immunity, promoting mental resilience, and expanding our understanding of what it means to live a happy and purposeful life. Deepak Chopra coined the term "quantum healing" when he published the first edition of his book with that title in 1989. [2] [3] His discussions of quantum healing have been characterised as technobabble - "incoherent babbling strewn with scientific terms" [4] which drives those who actually understand physics "crazy" [5] and as "redefining Wrong". [6] Quantum healing has a number of vocal followers, but the scientific community widely regards it as nonsensical. [7] The main criticism revolves around its systematic misinterpretation of modern physics, [8] especially of the fact that macroscopic objects (such as the human body or individual cells) are much too large to exhibit inherently quantum properties like interference and wave function collapse. Dr. Chopra states that much of his time is spent talking, trying to get people not to be so convinced by their disease. In Ayurveda, this is the first and foremost step in healing. "Meditation is so important because it leads the mind to a free zone that is not touched by disease. Until you know that such a place exists, your disease will seem to be taking over completely. This is the principal delusion that needs to be shattered."Inspired by the unexplained recovery of patients in his own practice who had been given just a few months to live, Dr. Chopra began his search for answers. After returning to his native India to explore humanity’s most ancient healing tradition, Ayurveda, he combined those insights with Western medicine, neuroscience, and physics. What he discovered—a “network of intelligence” in the human body with the potential to defeat cancer, heart disease, even aging itself—forms the basis of Quantum Healing. In this new edition, Dr. Chopra once again offers a fascinating intellectual journey and a deeply moving chronicle of hope and healing. On to the central claims of the book: "Quantum healing is healing the bodymind from a quantum level. That means from a level which is not manifest at a sensory level. Our bodies ultimately are fields of information, intelligence and energy. Quantum healing involves a shift in the fields of energy information, so as to bring about a correction in an idea that has gone wrong. So quantum healing involves healing one mode of consciousness, mind, to bring about changes in another mode of consciousness, body" Unremitting nonsense. This is utilising terminology from physics to describe metaphysics in a cynical and/or idiotic attempt to cash in on traditional medicines. If Chopra really believes it works, administer controlled tests and demonstrate that the method or treatment is repeatable and reproducible, just like any other treatment (he was, astonishingly, once an endocrinologist, so this is within his powers). Put some quantification around it. Metrics. Measurements. Fascinating. As the title implies, Dr. Chopra explores the frontiers of the mind/body with the knowledge and limitations of today's medical world and the world of physics, as well as the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda. He explores what is known and not known of people who have spontaneously healed from their terminal ailments. He does this with simplicity, clarity and sincerity. If I wasn't convinced of the many benefits of meditation, I am now.
