About this deal

I know this is an older guide, but I'm looking into using it for a simple system I'm building, and was wondering if the Silverstone DS380 is still a good case for doing this? Simple as that. The only thing I missed, but was easy to fix, was that my VMs did not boot after the restore. This turned out to be because the virtual NIC interfaces retained the old (now non-existent) NIC ID ‘re0’ from the previous build. This was simple to fix in the GUI by simple editing the device entry and applying the correct NIC. Can I use any type of thunderbolt cards or anything to connect to my with just thunderbolt. I see the 2.5, 5, and 10gbe adapters but I dont want to use them if I dont have to FTP/SFTP — (Secure/File Transfer Protocol) Common way of transferring files over a network using a utility like FileZilla

5+ Drive Bay Desktop Network Attached Storage Systems

I want to replace my Drobo DAS with NAS and likely to get the Synology 8-bay 1821+ though I noticed you mentioned a new one coming out that will be more powerful. I have an ASUS Creator B 660 motherboard with both 1 gbe and 2.,5 gbe and want to connect the Synology to the 2.5 gbe for LAN directly to PC to get 2.5 gbe. Won’t edit off the Synology but want to have fast storage. LOL… love the overkill! A nice Xeon D system with enough onboard SATA ports & 10 GbE… yeah. I realized SuperMicro offers 2 different PCIe- (2 or 4) NVMe drive cards… that or a video card would be a crazy converged widget. Or… a case like this that could take a FlexATX and you’d get 2 PCIe slots.FreeNAS — Supports Windows SMB, Apple AFP, Time Machine, and Unix NFS, as well as FTP and WebDAV with many advanced features & add-ons. See screenshots. Intel Core i3 or Xeon CPUs are the best choice for Intel based motherboards. If your budget is tight, go for a standard Pentium or Celeron CPU. SilverStone Technology Silverstone CS280 Premium Mini-ITX NAS

You didn’t mention QPhoto is not available on QuTS hero so tagging of photos can’t be done locally, but the tags can be analysed by QuMagie; the solution to this is tag on a QTS NAS and copy them over; I’ll be semi-automating this process soon on our system soon. All NAS systems in this guide are compatible with (and can be accessed by) Windows, Mac, Android and Linux operating systems The AUDHEID NAS 8-Bay K7 is an excellent choice for an extended NAS in a compact form factor that is ITX compatible. MATX and ATX motherboards are supported, and it has room for up to eight 3.5-inch hot-swap drives for high-end media centers or NAS. The number of hard drives that can fit inside a mini ITX NAS case will vary depending on the specific case model. However, most mini ITX NAS cases can accommodate at least 4 hard drives, while some high-end models can even support up to 8 and 10 storage drives. Can a mini ITX NAS case support RAID configurations? I saw the U-Nas case listing in GPB from the UK and it was probably the same you bought, it had the same disclaimer. I'm still regretting not getting that case as it's really hard to find here in Europe.Such compact cases with little space “behind” the PSU are a prime example of the one disadvantage modular PSUs have in such space-constrainted situations: A need for additional space for those plugs there. awesome, i knew you would like it, i love it, i bought the 6 bay i5 [8 including SSDs] been waiting for this review, think I would cry if you didn’t rate it, think this range will have some following maybe reaching cult status, it is a paradigm shift, have you seen the guy who modded/cut in a Quadro P2000 GPU, search YT, upgrading my network now, really interested in any future content, it is expensive and like a comment on here already there is always an argument to build your own, I could have done that but it just works no faffing about and you get a 3 year warranty now, plus optional 2 year extension…… The most important feature when choosing a motherboard is that it must have a PCIe slot that runs at a minimum x8 electrical, and either x8 or x16 physical, to accommodate the RAID card. Hey guys… If you guys dont want it standing up…. you can lay it down with vents down….. and put something under the NAS , in all 4 corners… taa-daa 🙂 vents-heating problem solved 🙂 hehe
