About this deal

make it with the field of t.v/media/film production. It isn't HD but this shouldn't matter the quality Helicopters are an interesting problem because the usual "just use a tripod" simply doesn't apply. Handholding would probably give you a much more stable image than bolting the camera to the airframe. I wonder if some sort of small steadycam rig like a Merlin might work? They can be challenging to master but it seems to me like it could be the right tool for the job (short of one of those gyro-stabilized rigs...). Sean's comment about future-proofing, and Francis' about watching quality footage seem to point to that.

The reason why very high hours maybe a prob: because the drives will be more worn, gears, mechanisms what ever you wanna call the guts of the camera. (function (p) { return p.toString() === "[object SafariRemoteNotification]"; })(!window['safari'] I have material I shot on low band U-matic with a Sony DXC M3A some twenty years ago which still looks perfectly acceptable , never mind older stuff shot on 16mm film , so having the latest technology is not an imperative .Pity though. It's hard for a stills photographer to view such an impressive bit of kit as junk. No one would toss a 2003 model Hasselblad in the bin! The difference between old pro stills and old pro video, I'm guessing, is that old stills cameras were good, just a bit harder or more expensive to use. Although old digital stills cameras from 2003 are getting obsolete, I guess (think D100). I really don't know anything about this camera except for it's specs which I just looked up via Google. It appears to record interlaced SD video on MiniDV cassettes. That raises several questions in my mind: The XL1S features the exclusive XL interchangeable lens-mount system which, in addition to exclusive interchangeable video lenses, also makes possible the use of a range of Canon’s extensive lineup of EF lenses for EOS 35mm cameras when outfitted with an optional EF mount adapter. The system enables users to select the most appropriate lens for each individual shooting situation, regardless of purpose, application or shooting conditions. So the big Canon is a ten year old door stopper, despite being an impressive bit of engineering. Video is such a throw away world! Thanks Sean, appreciate your advice and time. I find any video a can of worms and don't want to complicate things unnecessarily.

I know I can see quite a sharpness difference between the 720 HD from my D300s and the 1080 from the newer little cameras. But does that translate into any noticeable difference when viewed on Youtube? Youtube itself is no help in this, as there seems eternal circular discussion on the subject. Okay, so if your reading this your probably in the market for an upgrade from cameras like the XM2 XM1 and any little handy cams. This piece of kit is a little more hardcore than the xm2 which I have owned for about 3-4 years and recently sold to buy an XL1s.

Canon XL1S - Pros & Cons

The Canon XL2 succeeds the XL1S, which has garnered high praise in the market since its launch in July 2001. Inheriting the outstanding integrated design and innovative features of its predecessor, the XL2 boasts vastly improved image quality, functionality and operability to meet the performance needs of professional videographers. expireDaysIfNo: typeof mcxPresetParam.expireDaysIfNo === 'number' ? mcxPresetParam.expireDaysIfNo : 30, //days Resolution, including low light IQ, was the unknown for me. Is a top-line pro-grade SD camera still acceptable, and how does it compare to the dodgy brothers HD cameras I'm using? I read that DV was 704 scan lines (one pixel per scan line), compared to 720 or 1080 for HD.

rotary heads, helical scanning system DV system (Consumer digital VCR SD system) Digital component recordingfor (var nLen = aKeys.length, nIdx = 0; nIdx < nLen; nIdx++) { aKeys[nIdx] = decodeURIComponent(aKeys[nIdx]); } The xl1s is light very slim and therefore lovely to travel with. with the mic on board lens battery so don't be afraid to ask how long has it run for, remember it's your money and you can only spend it once. unless your in the mafia or run a cuban drugs ring.

There is an ocean of options the camera will allow you to go even more manual than the xm2 and all buttons and knobs are easily accessible. Long and short of it, I now have a camera that records in sufficiently high definition to allow me to produce decent quality videos. If I make money from this project then I can always upgrade later, but for now my primary mission is to get quality production with the most options available.
